We are honored to host this very special conversation between some of the most thoughtful and inspiring people currently leading the movement toward AAPI equality in America. Following the March murders in Atlanta and the heightened increase of violence against the AAPI community, the Gayborhood team felt a responsibility to stand in solidarity and join this dialogue. Alongside Roger, we're proud to welcome Broadway actor, producer, and activist Adam Hyndman (Aladdin, Once on this Island, Hadestown, and a current Tony nominee for The Inheritance); artist, voice coach, and speech language pathologist Ruth Coughlin Lencowski; and actor and producer Brian Yang (Westworld, Hawaii 5-0, Sundance documentary Linsanity, and the upcoming projects The Little Prince(ss) for Disney+ and Snakehead), who also served as the West Coast Regional Fundraiser Director of the Andrew Yang 2020 Presidential Campaign. Our panel discusses everything from their personal definitions of AAPI identity, their families' generational relationships to America, and their hopes for the future regarding how the AAPI community is depicted in the media. PS We also couldn't be more thrilled to count Brian and Ruth as our first ally guests on the podcast!
