  • The Brave Little Toaster

    Send a text

Katie and Bridget AND THEIR SISTER MARY(!) all go hug their appliances as they re-watch the movie: The Brave Little Toaster! It's a classic 80's kids film which means - its filled with horrific nightmares and crippling existentialism! But don't worry, there are silly puns along the way, which makes it okay! Come along as we follow Toaster, Lampy, Blanky, Radio, and Kirby (he's a vacuum - we don't know why he gets a real name either) as they embark on a journey through the wilderness and into the city to find their Mast... Er, their "owner". Will the appliances be reunited before they are: thrown off a waterfall, sucked into quicksand, kidnapped by appliance Ed Gein, thrown into a dumpster, and almost turned into blocks of metal!? Well technically no since all of those things happen BEFORE they are reunited... But don't worry we all somehow make it out in the end! Released in 1987, it was based on the novel of the same name written by Thomas M. Disch.

  • Bridget Jones's Diary

    Send a text

Katie and BRIDGET (Not Bridget Jones) run down the street in their undies as they re-watch the movie: Bridget Jones's Diary! It's a rom-com that surprisingly doesn't suck! Meet Bridget as she decides to keep a diary of her life over the new year. However like most of us though, she never really writes in it and just does whatever instead. She gets caught in between two British guys: Daniel Cleaver, a jerk who calls her a bitch for no reason, and Mark Darcy, a guy who may or may not be living through an episode of Sex and The City... Guess which one cheats on her! Over the year Bridget will find a new career, new love, ideally some pants, and hopefully a good lawyer who can help her sue someone for that inappropriate "home movie" during the end credits - Seriously should we start a GoFundMe page to support that girl's legal fees cause Jesus! Released in 2001, it stars Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth, and Hugh Grant.

  • Twilight

Katie and Bridget hold on like spider monkeys as they re-watch the cultural phenomenon: Twilight! It's a story all about how teenagers really will fall in love with anything... Even guys who threaten to murder them, tell them they smell, and stalk them 24/7 - romantic! Come along as we meet Bella, a girl who probably would fall down 2 flights of stairs and then out a window. She moves to Sporks - er, we mean, Forks - Washington to live with her Dad since her Mom abandoned her at the ripe old age of 17!(?) She falls in love with Edward, the rudest vampire ever, who should probably just get an adult job already and stop pretending he's really a highschooler. Together they navigate his vampire cult family, a stalking killer vampire (this one isn't Edward though, don't get confused), and the classic high school issue of teen angst. Will Bella and Edward make it through together!? Unfortunately yes, despite Edward trying to break things off multiple times throughout the movie. Released in 2008, it was based off of the best-selling book written by Stephenie Meyer.

Katie and Bridget vacation in Italy as they discuss this month's NOstalgic Happy Hour pick: The White Lotus - Season 2! We meet a new cast of rich people now vacationing in Italy, all of whom probably need to just see a therapist already. You've got the quadruple of Harper, Daphne, Cameron, and Ethan - none of whom amazingly get murdered or are murderers!!? Then there's the family of Bert, Christopher Moltisanti - er we mean, Dominic, and Albie (blegh), who all are just lame guys. We meet Lucia and Mia, who Bridget and I will be portraying in the New Jersey version of White Lotus! And lastly, Tanya and Portia! The hottest of the hot messes there ever were. Hear about our fan theories for season 3 which include Portia coming back as Harriet The Spy (hopefully alongside Rosie O'Donnell) and Daphne coming back as a serial killer to murder Greg and possibly Cameron as well. Released in 2021, with the most recent season released in 2022, it was created by Ned Schneebly himself - Mr. Mike White!

  • Home Alone

Katie and Bridget get left home alone AGAIN (or the first time?) as they re-watch the Christmas classic: Home Alone! Find out if our review of this movie is just a rewrite of our review for Home Alone 2: Lost In New York - which Katie successfully argues is the superior film of the two! This time Kevin is only 8 years old and he gets left home alone in his own house. Instead of Pigeon lady we get Old Man Marley, who doesn't bother to help Kevin out and instead just lays on some Catholic guilt until his 3rd act shovel redemption. Harry and Marv are back too! This time as the wet bandits, where they first encounter Kevin's reign of sadistic torture. Will Kevin make it through 48 hours being home alone without killing someone? Should John Candy really be renamed as John "Cameo" instead?! Released in 1990, it was written by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus.

Katie and Bridget and special guest(!) our cousin Dave(!) crawl through a vent as they re-watch the classic movie: Die Hard! First and foremost this IS a Christmas movie, that really gets you in the holiday spirit with all the music, Christmas trees, and there's even snow! Well it's actually burning bonds and ash flying from the sky... But that's kind of like snow! Come along as we follow John McClane, a NYC cop who was just trying to crash his estranged wife's Christmas party. He gets roped into saving the day and squaring off against the evil Hans Gruber - a guy who makes it clear that he's a VERY GOOD THIEF! Will John be able to save the day despite being entirely shoeless!? Does Argyle deserve his own laugh track every time he comes into a scene? Released in 1988, this movie helped skyrocket Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman into movie stardom.

Katie and Bridget get on a train with Tom Hanks as they re-watch the Christmas movie: The Polar Express! It's a story all about how Santa is absolutely real and you better believe or you won't hear the magical bells and you also better drink this hot cocoa and sing these Polar Express songs OR ELSE! .... Yeah this movie we're convinced is actually about a Christmas cult. Follow our main character "Hero Boy" (.......???) as he gets on the train and makes some new friends along the way. They all have shared trauma now since this train, we're convinced, is out to kill everyone. Tom Hanks also plays 6 characters in this movie - just because! Released in 2004, it was directed by Robert Zemeckis, Tommy Tom Hanks's biggest fan.

  • Theranos / The Dropout: NOstalgic Happy Hour

    Send a text

Katie and Bridget get on some soapboxes as they re-watch the 2022 mini series: The Dropout! It's a terrifyingly TRUE story about the rise and fall of the company Theranos, created by Elizabeth Holmes, who (spoiler alert!): is off to jail for 11 years. Hear all about how Amanda Seyfried absolutely deserved her Emmy win for this role, how Sunny was a scary predator and this all could have been avoided with more chaperones, and how Erika Cheung deserves a Nobel Peace Prize or something for saving us all from more years of this nonsense! This recent story has events currently in development as Elizabeth Holmes just received her sentence and the trial for Sunny Balwani has still yet to occur - send us your bets on how long you think he'll be sentenced for! Released in March 2022, this mini series was based off of the podcast of the same name, hosted by Rebecca Jarvis.

It's a story all about friendship, baseball, dogs, baseball, urban legends, and overall just how ridiculous kids can be. Come along as we meet Scotty Smalls (not to be confused with our cousin) who is the new kid in town looking to make some friends. He can't throw a ball more than 2 inches and overall just is an L-7 WEENIE! But don't worry, because his future best friend/possibly future boyfriend Benny the Jet invites him to the join the team alongside other icons such as The Great Hambino, Squints, and Yeah-Yeah! They get into the biggest pickle of their lives (take a sip) and have to retrieve a baseball signed by Babe Ruth from The Beast. Will the kids get the ball back alive!? • How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

    Send a text

Katie and Bridget make weird bets about dating as they re-watch the movie: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days! It's a movie all about how women ruin all relationships, always, no matter what - according to all the male writers that is. Come along as we meet Andie Anderson (???? why????) as she is tasked to write a magazine article about dating a guy and then being terrible so he breaks up with her in less than 10 days. She could just write it all as a fiction piece BUT NO! She starts dating Ben (last name not Bennerson) who gets himself into his own weird bet of having to make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days - or else he won't get the diamond ad campaign that he literally stole from other women! Doesn't he sound like a hero!? Will the two fall in love, fall into hating each other, or fall off a bridge in Staten Island? Is Princess Sophia the best name for someone's ****!? Released in 2003, this movie was based off a book.
