We're used to watching lots of movies but sometimes we even amaze ourselves. Take this week for example. We start with "The Trial of the Chicago 7" which is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin and stars Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Mark Rylance, Frank Langella and a whole lot of really good actors. Then there's "On the Rocks" which is written and directed by Sophia Coppola and stars Bill Murray, Rashida Jones and Marlon Wayans. It's about a writer who suspects her husband of infidelity...but it's got Bill Murray! There's also "Rebecca," a remake of the Alfred Hitchcock classic and "Spontaneous" which is about high school kids who spontaneously combust. Now that's a concept! And we've got documentaries too. Like "Thrive 2" and "The Phenomenon." If that's not enough for you it may be a good idea to seek professional help.

Yes, we're in the middle of a pandemic, but does that keep Robert DeNiro from making movies? Uh no, which is why we start with "The War With Grandpa." No, it's not a searing drama, it's a comedy but besides DeNeiro it's got Uma Thurman, Christopher Walken and Jane Seymore. Is it worth checking out? Then there's "Hubie Halloween< which besides starring Adam Sandler has Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi and Oscar nominee June Squibb. So are all big stars acting up a storm or just cashing a check? Bill M also has the rundown on the new season of "Fargo" which features, you guessed it, Chris Rock. Neil and Bill also tell us about "A Call to Spy" which takes place in the beginning of WWII, when a desperate, Churchill orders his new spy agency - SOE - to recruit and train women as spies. Bill Bregoli tells us about the innovative documentary "American Murder: The Family Next Door" which tells how in 2018, 38-year-old Shanann Watts and her two youngest daughters disappeared in Colorado. Bill Bregoli also tells us about "Stuntwomen: The Untold Hollywood Story," an action-documentary about the evolution of stunt women from The Perils of Pauline (1914) and beyond. October is almost here and we've got a show that's tastier than pumpkin spice - We start with "The Artist's Wife" which stars Leno Olin as the wife of the renowned abstract artist Richard Smythson (Bruce Dern), who is plunged into a late-life crisis when her husband is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and is in danger of not completing the paintings for his final show. And if that's not enough angst for you Bill McCuddy tells us about "Delhi Crime" which follows the Delhi Police investigation into the finding of the men who perpetrated a deadly crime that made international news. And speaking of crime, there's also "Kajillionaire." It stars Evan Rachel Wood as a woman whose life is turned upside down when her criminal parents invite an outsider to join them on a major heist they're planning. But wait, there's also "Enola Holmes." It's on Netflix and stars Millie Bobbie Brown ("Stranger Things") as Enola Holmes-Sherlock's teen sister-who discovers her mother missing, and sets off to find her, becoming a super-sleuth in her own right as she outwits her famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord. Any normal podcast would call that enough, but we're not what you call normal. So we also discuss that strange Emmy Awards Show last week and well as the upcoming season of "Saturday Night Live." Oh, but there's more including discussions of the controversial Netflix films "Cuties" and why "Tenet" isn't making much money at the box-office. There's a chill in the air so put a log on the fire and listen in!

Neil wonders aloud how late night shows will adapt to going back into the studio and we all mourn the passing of Dame Diana Rigg who impressed an entire generation of men as "Mrs. Peel" on the Avengers and went on to star on stage, in a Bond movie and even "Game of Thrones." We also discuss the new rules the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have proposed for films competing in the "Best Picture" category at the Oscars. They're a little odd, but so are we. It's been a long 6 months but that's how long ago we were supposed to see Disney's live-action remake of "Mulan" in theaters. Well, we can finally see it but only on Disney's streaming service. And it's gonna cost ya extra. Is it worth it? We all saw it and we'll let you know. Then Bill Bregoli tells us about the new sci-fi series "Raised By Wolves" which is on HBO Max. And speaking of HBO Max, Neil Rosen watched a documentary called "Class Action Park" which is one of the streaming service's biggest hits apparently. We take a sad look back at the career of Chadwick Boseman who left us all too soon. And we've got lots more - like a documentary about a sex cult! There's a movie in theaters! OK, it's taken a while but "Unhinged" is the first movie now playing on a big screen near you. Well maybe. It stars Russell Crowe. It's about a woman (Caren Pistorius) who has confrontation with an unstable man at an intersection (Crowe of course) and becomes the target of his rage. Neil Rosen tells us about it. Is it worth putting your own life on the line to go to a theater and see it? We'll let you know. Bill Bregoli tells us about "The One and Only Ivan" which is a live action / CGI film about a gorilla living in a shopping mall with unseen talents. It's from Disney and it's based on an award-winning book. Bill McCuddy tells us about "The Burnt Orange Heresy" which takes place in the art world and stars Elizabeth Debicki, Donald Sutherland and Mick Jagger. Yes, THAT Mick Jagger. Then we've got the WWII documentary "Apocalypse '45" featuring never before seen footage of US forces battling the Japanese in the closing days of the war.
