Spring is in the air, and so are unsolved murders and urban legends. Today, we have one of each.

Erin starts the show with the unbelievable unsolved murders of the Miazawa family in the Setagaya ward of Tokyo, Japan which took place on December 30, 2000. A family of 4 were murdered during an alleged home invasion, but we have so many questions!

Next, O'Dell continues his "true" story that inspired urban legends that inspired movies series. Today he goes the paranormal route and talks about The Bell Witch haunting that many say inspired "The Blair Witch Project". While it was probably terrifying to the family, we think the alleged witch sounds like someone we would want to hang out with. She left us with total apparition inspiration!

Erin closes the show with an In Memoriam about a badly placed goat. (Yes, you read that correctly.)

On today's episode, O'Dell kicks things off with another true story that inspired an urban legend which has also inspired themes in several horror movies. Today's story is that of The Moonlight Murders which took place in Texarkana in 1946. This was the source material for the 1976 movie "The Town that Dreaded Sundown", as well as the inspiration behind the urban legend of the madman with a hook who stalked teens who would "park" along dark country roads.

Erin continues the episode with the alleged suicide (but probably not) of Rebecca Zahau who was found hanging from the balcony of her millionaire boyfriend's mansion. Did she really kill herself? We think not - and the more we think about it, the more all signs point to The Joker.

O'Dell closes the show with an In Memoriam about a Florida man and a stubborn window.

On this installment of Someone Almost Died, we talk about the abduction, rape, and attempted murder of Bridget Kelly. In 2002, Bridget was forced at gunpoint to drive a man to an ATM and withdraw money. Afterward, he took her to a field, raped her, shot her, and left her for dead. What happened next, and how Bridget survived, is nothing short of miraculous.

After Erin tells Bridget's story, we spend some time talking about what we would do if someone came knocking at our door late at night begging for help. Would you open the door?

In 1984, Kari Swenson was abducted by two self-proclaimed mountain men, Don Nichols and his son Dan Nichols, while jogging along a mountain path in Bozeman, Montana. The men intended to keep Kari as a bride, but she ended up being shot by one of the men and left in the woods to fend for herself. We cover the kidnapping as well as how badly the media handled the story which ended up turning the two kidnappers into overnight celebrities.
