  • Episode 66 - REWIND - Kobashi vs Misawa (Tokyo, Japan - March 1, 2003)

Have you ever bought scalped tickets before? Is it legal where you live? Learn what its like to buy scalped tickets in Japan. In what was by far the best match we had reviewed in our podcast thus far, Kenta Kobashi faces Mitsuharu Misawa in their last ever singles match from the Nippon Budokan. Tariq was there live and talks about his first hand impressions. More importantly Tariq gets the biggest pop ever in the history of this show when he talks about why he did not cry at the finish. In fact, that ringtone is available for download upon request.

  • Episode 65 - Kushida vs. Will Ospreay (Newcastle upon Tyne, England - 26/8/2017)

The World Cup of Wrestling?! The World Cup in Qatar has just ended and we thought that this would be an opportune time to discuss our thoughts on the World Cup of Soccer/Football and how it compares to the events that we love. Tariq talks about going to watch a World Cup match live in 2002 and Jim talks about watching a league game in Europe. But none of that holds a candle to what was on display in this week’s match. If you have ever questioned whether wrestlers were truly athletes, this is absolutely the match for you. In this match, Will Ospreay does some things that seem humanely impossible. But what is most interesting to Jim was Tariq’s take on women’s place in society, what do you think? Have we gone too far in the other direction?

  • Episode 64 - REWIND - RVD vs Bam Bam Bigelow (ECW Buffalo TV - Buffalo, NY - April 4, 1998)

RVD wins the ECW TV title and all three of us were there live in attendance at the Burt Flickinger Arena in downtown Buffalo NY. Tariq talks about his strong dislike of RVD matches and why he thinks that Raven stole Mike’s gimmick, this breakdown makes it difficult for Jim to keep it together. The three of us recall our thoughts of the match at that time and then reflect on how good this match actually was by today’s standards. The retrospective examination of this match really ruined it for us.

  • Episode 63 - Hayabusa and Masato Tanaka vs. Terry Funk and Mr Pogo (5/5/1996)

This episode starts off with a rough translation of our Mac World segment from Episode 61. Following that we get into our memories of the first exploding bomb matches we ever saw and a good internet list of the greatest bomb matches ever. This week’s bomb match classic has plenty of intrigue, story telling and drama but the highlight of this match has to be how absurdly far Mr. Pogo took things in this match. If you have never seen a bomb match before there is no better place to start than this match but be warned this is absolutely not for the faint at heart.

  • Episode 59 - Maku Donaruto vs. Shinya Aoki (Tokyo, Japan - 22/7/2020)

Do you know who Maku Donaruto is? That name sure sounds familiar, doesn’t it? If you have never seen a Maku Donaruto match get ready to have your mind blown, he is a true one of a kind. In this week’s episode Maku joins the episode to give his own hilarious review of the match (In Japanese).

In addition to that, Jim and Tariq talk about their childhood memories of McDonald’s and what ever kid born in the 1970’s dreamed of. We also focus on some of the differences between McDonald’s as you know it and McDonald’s Japan. Jim was salivating for most of that segment. The match this week left both of us speechless, shocking, funny, entertaining, no words did this match any justice. To find out more about Maku Donaruto you can go to his homepage at https://maku-donaruto.com to see his blog, dates and much more.

  • Episode 57 - Chris Brooks vs Pokotan (Tokyo, Japan - 3/1/2022)

In this week’s intro you will get to know all about Jim and Tariq’s favorite childhood cartoons. In somewhat of a big surprise, Tariq puts a cartoon on his list that Jim totally buries. Is Tariq able to get Jim to change his opinion after his justification? The reason for this week's intro is that this is the first time that we have featured a real life character in one of our matches. This week, Pokotan, a Japanese “Yuru-Kara”, faces off against Chris Brooks in DDT in a match from Korakuen Hall and this match has one of the greatest modern finishes for a comedy match that both Jim and Tariq have nothing but praise for.
