Six, Over Par

Season four of the Order of Merit starts imminently, the RACDG MacKenzie Cup takes place in St Andrews next week and the Masters is just around the corner. It’s a guaranteed Wills and Kate speculation-free zone as Six, Over Par returns.

We discuss our early season form (or lack of), the new Roost Series and the improved OoM draft, now featuring additional captains from around the Flock and some frankly awful team names which even LIV would reject.

Golf season proper starts now! Jump in…

Ready or not, Six, Over Par is back as we stride boldly into season four.

As the festive period draws to a close, Gav, Arron, Jon and MTC are talking new year goals, science, darts, badminton, board competitions and the speed of pheasants.

There is also the small matter of updating the competitors of the rules changes made ahead of the upcoming season, as we once again set forth to find the next Order of Merit Champion.

6OP returns to natter about the upcoming Order of Merit Finals Weekend at The Warwickshire. There’s also a full rundown of the regular season final standings, along with September’s winners and a round up of what it all meant for our internal draft.

Did anyone catch long-time leader Jon and was Gav able to hoist himself off the bottom and avoid the dreaded forfeit (TBD)?

We also chat about the recent Roost Club Championships at Sweetens Cove, where Jon was part of RACDG Europe’s four man team who hoped to bring it home. Was Europe on fire? Was the USA terrified? Did anyone get shot? Find out all of this, and more.

The Six Over Par crew are back together to cast an eye over the month of August, and Preview the Month of September, which had definitely not started before our recording.

We look back on the Freddie Mercury Cup, the Dehydration Classic at Hankley Common and complete the final draft of the season.

With Gav back from his holiday, there’s plenty to catch up on in this slightly delayed 6OP pod. Arron returned safely from the Far East in time to capture the third major of the RACDG year – the Cock of the North. We’ll recap both the COTN at Close House and July’s Calluna Cup, decided over 36 holes in tough conditties at Hollinwell.

There’s also a look back to the first Roost Major, held at Sutton Coldandverywetfield, where a couple of Flockers incredibly managed to shoot under level net, despite having to putt through lakes on every green. We’ll also have the usual updates on the Order of Merit and internal 6OP draft, goals and challenges.

With Arron sweating his arse off building schools out in Vietnam, it’s just the three of us this month. We take a look back at a busy June, with Flock events at Enville, Littlestone and out in Belgium/Netherlands. The Order of Merit is at the halfway stage and it was a banner month for one of the 6OP boys.

There’s also a preview of the upcoming Calluna Cup at Hollin(g)well and the first ever Roost Major at Sutton Coldfield, as well as the usual updates on goals and birdies, along with a wrinkle in the OoM draft, where Jon has risen to the top, despite half of his squad being poached.

May, The Pod, be with you.

We take a look back at the month that was May, as MTC bemoans the loss of his game in a dark room, Gav reflects on a north creeping handicap and Arron recounts his time on Tour.

Jon characteristically detonates all unworthy sports and we give you the update on the latest transfer window, where the revolving door at Casa Arshad rotates more than ever.

As the season proper ramps up, Gav, MTC, Arron and Jon get together to chat about their April golf, post-MacK. There’s plenty to discuss, including a day out in Norfolk, an upcoming national championship and some uncharacteristic on course behaviour from the Gateshead Giant.

The boys also run through the results of the opening month of the RACDG’s Order of Merit and make the first transfers for their season-long draft.

What better way to cure your ‘Post Mack Blues’ than to indulge the 6OP boys as they recount a week of Beer, Bogeys and Blister Plasters.

Join Gav, Jon, MTC and Arron as they recount their magical week in the home of golf, look at the wider landscape of the OOM and resent the absence of 36 hole days from their normal day to day lives.

As we travel to the Home of Golf, Jon, Gav, MTC & Arron discuss a round at Crail, and a visit to the epicentre of the St Andrews visit, The Dunvegan.

We run through the Order of Merit Draft as the first months picks are chosen and the Captains are set.

We also discuss the upcoming competition rounds for this season MacKenzie.
