The Revs earned their third-straight road win at FC Cincinnati on Sunday, extending their unbeaten streak to 10 and moving into the seventh and final MLS playoff spot.
Matt Turner picked up his second-straight clean sheet, while goals from Carles Gil in the 9th minute and Antonio Delamea in the 55th were all New England needed to avenge a loss to Cincinnati back in March.
This week, we break it down with Julian Cardillo, of Pro Soccer USA, and Sean Sweeney, with the Boston Sports Journal. The Huot 8000 locks in some predictions and we welcome Julia Poe, of the Orlando Sentinel, to help preview The Purple Lion’s upcoming visit to Foxborough.

Gustavo’s Bou’s first appearance in a New England Revolution uniform could not have gone much better. Punishing rain and threats of nearby lighting left many wondering if the game would get off at all, but once it did, New England dominated — putting up 17 shots on goal in the first half while limiting the struggling Whitecaps to none. Bou opened his MLS account in the dying seconds of the first half when Carles Gil found him just outside the box -- Bou launched a shot with his right foot that tore past Vancouver keeper Maxime Crépeau.
Vancouver started strong in the second half and nearly even things up, but Theo Bair’s shot hit the left post in the 51st minute and bounced forward into Matt Turner’s arms.
The Revs put the issue to rest in the 82nd minute when substitute Diego Fagundez headed home a Cristian Penilla cross that found the back of the net and Doubled New England’s lead. It was Fagundez’ first goal of the 2019 campaign.
But the Revs weren’t done with offense. Penilla and red hot Teal Bunbury each scored in the 86th and 90th minutes, respectively. This week, Ray and Jon welcome back Jason York, Revs MLS beat writer, to break it all down. New England is now unbeaten in its last nine matches as they head to Cincinnati on Sunday to take on the boys from Queen City, who currently sit on at the bottom. We preview that rematch with Brad Wiegel, of Cincinnati Soccer Talk.

The Revs went up two goals against DC United at Audi Field on Friday, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw after giving up an equalizing goal in the 86th minute.
In the 4th minute, Teal Bunbury picked up his fourth goal in five league matches to remain hot. Carles Gil doubled the Revs lead in the 32nd minute, he now leads the club with five goals on the season.
The Revolution played the final 27 minutes down a man after Wilfried Zahibo was ejected on a second yellow card
The road result extends New England’s unbeaten streak to eight games and leaves the Revs just two points outside the final playoff spot. We break it down with Julian Cardillo, from Pro Soccer USA.
New England plays its first of two games this week on Wednesday, against a struggling Vancouver side, currently sitting at the bottom of the MLS Western Conference table. And, finally, the Huot 8000 rides again! Jon walks us through what the Revs must do to climb above the red line and make it into the playoffs.

The Revs kick off their quest for the US Open Cup as they travel to New Jersey today to take on Red Bull. The one-time Metrostars started slow in 2019, but have amassed a 6-2-1 record since falling to the Revs in April. We’ll preview the match with Mark Fishkin, of the Seeing Red podcast.
Former Revs Interim Head Coach Mike Lapper joins us to discuss his time in New England and what he’ll take away with him as he pursues a permanent head coaching position of his own. In a refreshingly candid interview, Lapper opens up about relationships with players, some of the challenges he faced on the job and where he thinks the Revs go from here.
