People speak at about 125 words per minute. People think at 900 words per minute. So guess what, when you speak at 125 words, you as listener are filling in the gaps with any information you want to put in between. You are making assumptions, stories, you turned off because you are thinking about what to answer next. Bottom line, we tend to suck at listening.
