I preached it again at Faith Community MB Church in September 2015.

This was a difficult sermon in that I ask people to pray differently.

I first preached this sermon under the title, Playing Dress Up in 2006 at Holy Angels on the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time.

I revised it 7 March 2017, but I don’t know where I preached it. Hmmm. I wonder if it was for Faith Community MB Church?

I re-titled the sermon 18 November 2020 and preached it for the organization, the Center for FaithJustice now called GoodFaith.

This sermon was first preached at Holy Angels in 2001 on the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

I revised it in November 2009 for Thanksgiving, and most likely preached it at Faith Community MB Church.

As I look at the dates of these sermons I see that I preached quite a lot in the early 2000s.  

This sermon was preached on the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time in 2004 at Holy Angels

This sermon was first preached on the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time in 2007 at Holy Angels. It was revised 23 September 2016 for an occasion I did not record. 

I then preached it a month later at Faith Community MB Church.

This sermon has two titles: “Becoming Your True Self” and “Giving Your All”. I don’t recall why? 

Preached in 2006 at Holy Angels on the 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time, I preached it again 10 years later in April at Faith Community MB Church. 

It has been enlightening to journey back through these sermons, re-discovering the time spent in the pulpit. 

I preached this sermon on the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time in 2007

This sermon has only been preached once. That’s rare for me as you well know. I preached it in 2007 on the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

The first time I preached this sermon in October 2011 at Faith Community MB Church, I played the beginning of Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker) by Parliament before reading the scripture. What do you think happened?

I preached this sermon again in April 2016 on the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time. I played the same song then too.

I have found that this sermon was preached 4 times. The first time was January 2006, you got it, the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time.

I preached it again at the 2009 Harambee. The Augustus Tolton Pastoral Ministry Program at Catholic Theological Union Chicago, hosts an annual fundraiser for the scholarship program, entitled Harambee. That program was significant in my formation. Check it out.

The 3rd preaching was for the RCIA—Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults—at Old St. Pat’s in November 2009.

The 4th preaching was January 2015 at Faith Community MB Church.
