Over here in Maui enjoying the Island but couldn’t forget my Podcast Wednesday. This one is decorated to a few of the fallen soldiers I spent some time around. No particular order and I just wrote the names down and said my first thoughts when I see their name. 

 West Seattle Indians was an 85yr traditional mascot name honoring all of the native American influence in West Seattle. This name was changed because several butts were hurt, tell me if this hurt your butt? Cultural appropriation or appreciation? I didn't have time to edit this so I apologize for the pauses and stumbles but WEST SEATTLE INDIANS FOR LIFE!  

White Center AKA R.A.T City was nicknamed for only one reason. Found out why and see if you agree that it's still one of the best kept secrets of the ever growing Seattle area. 

The Seattle Monastery was an old abandoned church that George Freeman turned into a night club from 1977-1984. Freeman,  had a lot of bad press for this club but many folks from that era thank Mr. Freeman for providing one of the first LGBT nightclubs to Seattle, WA.  I researched this some years ago after seeing that house next to I-5 (North) near the 520 bridge that had purple lights around it and can be seen from the freeway. Listen to a cool story about one of the pioneers who put LGBT clubs on the map for Seattle, WA. 

The West Seattle bridge is a very twisted tale of money, power and murder. This covers the bridge construction that derived from the original bridge being struck by a 550FT Freighter. The Captain of this ship was later murdered and the new bridge was officially dead at 36 as well. Learn some things about this story as history tends to repeat itself.
