Our 200th episode finds us on the road to Austin to play a gig at the Hyatt Regency. The new kids—Heide & Kevin—tell us a little more about themselves before we get into some song kills & ressurections. We also talk about how classic TV show themes are so much better than what we have now, and Patrick shares a story of how he caught his mom listening to one of his Iron Maiden records.

The show is bookended by a bit of footage from the Austin gig... first a soundcheck of "Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues, and then our own "PLFM" towards the end of the night. Many thanks to Scarlett Pettis for the video!

Both of our gigs last week were rained out, and Friday night we took advantage of the downtime to record an episode of SlapperCast with Heide. We talk about obscenely high ticket prices, Heide's recent gig with Marie Osmond, Shane MacGowan, the Pogues, Steel Panther, Thin Lizzy, Blaze Bayley, Dolly Parton, and a bunch of other stuff.

SlapperCast 194 was pieced together from two segments filmed in the van following our two shows this past weekend, along with some footage shot Saturday night in College Station with a very rowdy crowd at our obeloved O'Bannon's. This includes footage from Chad's camera set up stage right, a brief clip captured by Kevin from behind the drum kit between songs, and a clip filmed from the audience by our friend Ellen Reeves.
