March 27, 2023 Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger Part IV
Hey Goons! This is our final Monday of TroMarch, so what better way to end a solid month of debauchery than with the Mickey Mouse of Troma, himself, Toxie. That’s right, Doug, Jason and Ade talk all things Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger Part IV. Co-written by Trent Haaga and directed by Lloyd Kaufman, this installment follows the Toxic Avenger, who must defend his friends from his own alternate universe Doppelganger, The Noxious Offender. While this one is a wonky, offensive, vomit-inducing flick, it’s really funny and Ade points out that there is a social commentary, so it’s all okay. As per usual, trigger warnings throughout, so watch it at your own risk. It’s also a lot of fun–if you can sit through South Park, you can sit and laugh through this, too.

March 13, 2023 Def By Temptation (1990)
Happy week 2 of TroMarch here on Slashers Podcast!
Join Jason & Ade is they dive into 1990s Troma/ Lloyd Kaufman favorite, Def By Temptation. The film follows an evil succubus that is preying on libidinous black men in New York City, and all that stands in her way is a minister-in-training, an aspiring actor, and a cop who specializes in cases involving the supernatural. The film stars many favorites like Samuel L Jackson, Kadeem Hardison from A Different World, Bill Nunn & author Cynthia Bond as our evil seductress. The film is written & directed by James Bond III, who also plays the pious hero, Joel. But we don't just talk Troma in this episode without bringing up Gilmore Girls, which stars Sean Gunn as the whimsical Kirk, but more importantly, is James Gunn's brother who graced us with Tromeo & Juliet (one of Ade's favorites), but of course goes on to direct Marvel films. So kick back and find out why this one is probably more top tier than just Troma.

March 01, 2023 The Black Phone
Hey Goons! Welcome to a special bonus episode this week on Slashers Podcast. We had two more Patreon picks leftover, so for the next two weeks you'll get not one but TWO episodes of your favorite goons talking your favorite horror media. This week's patreon pick is for Ade's mom, Laureen, who chose The Black Phone. Directed by Scott Derrickson, who you may know from films like Sinister, Doctor Strange, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and adapted from the Joe Hill novel of the same name. For those of you who don't know, Joe Hill not only starred as the little boy from Creepshow, but is also the son of Stephen King. The Black Phone stars Ethan Hawke as "the grabber," as well as James Ransone, Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw.
Mom, this was such a great pick and thanks so much for being a Patreon Member and all your support. Sorry the boys are inappropriate haha.

February 20, 2023 Strangeland (1998)
Another Monday, another new episode of Slashers Podcast! Today for our Patreon Pick, Doug, Jason and Ade talk about Cam’s choice, Strangeland from 1998. Written and starring Twisted Sister’s Dee Snyder as the titular, tatted and pierced “Captain Howdy.” The film also stars a baby Linda Cardellini and Amy Smart, and follows a modern primitive psychopath who stalks young teens in chatrooms, kidnaps them, and tortures them with body modification. Robert Englund also makes an appearance, so it’s worth a watch if you still haven’t seen it. Listen to why we think this is a time capsule for the beginnings of the “strange land” that is known as the internet. Also, walk with Jason and Ade down memory lane about the once wild, wild west of AOL and the explanation of ASL. Find out why Ade and Doug enjoy this one and why Jason can take it or leave it. Bonus! The Strangeland soundtrack is available to listen to on Spotify, and features music from Sevendust, Megadeth, Anthrax, Snot, (Hed)PE, Nashville Pussy and more.
Cam, we love you and we’re so happy to do this for you!

February 13, 2023 Creepshow - 1982
Hey Goons! Another new episode of Slashers Podcast is upon us. This month is Patreon Pick February, so if you signed up in December or have been with us a long time, you got to pick your movie. Today’s Patreon Pick is from one of our long-time, most loyal listeners, Kevin, whom we absolutely adore. Kevin chose 1982’s Creepshow, written by Stephen King and directed by George A Romero. This film is an anthology with 5 separate stories plus a wraparound story that stars Tom Atkins and King’s son and now famous author, Joe Hill! The film itself has a star-studded cast who include Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielson, Ted Danson, Hal Holbrook, Fritz Weaver, EG Marshall, Ed Harris, Stephen King, and Tom Savini. In addition, Savini does all the gory, goopy and grisly practical effects. Find out why we think this classic should be considered gateway horror for any new horror fan, as well as which segments were our favorites. Let us know yours in the comments!! Thanks, Kevin, for the awesome suggestion.
