Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this fellow is? His real name is Joshua Abraham Norton, but he’s better known to those interested in San Francisco history as Emperor Norton I. You’ll find out more about him in the third segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records in which we take a musical trip to “Frisco.” We’ll also celebrate the birthdays of Joe Rines and Cliff Friend and play another game of “One Thing in Common.” To finish up the show we’ll be reminded that the war in Ukraine is not over. There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click on the audio player above to listen streaming online and/or download the show for listening at your convenience.
