Today’s guest, Caroline Barnes, spent 20 years working in the travel industry.  Little did she know then that her evening hobby would turn out to be her future career. 

Caroline had completed Levels 1, 2 , 3 Sign Language course in her spare time, but after being made redundant, she went on to further her education in this area, ultimately becoming a freelance sign language interpreter.

After spending 18 years in corporate marketing and advertising, Nikki Lakin was feeling that she was never giving her best to both work and home, so she decided to make a change. 

Having fabulous memories of her grandparent’s gardens and finally getting her own garden she realised her passion in getting her hands into the soil which led her to re-train and set up her own garden-making business.  She now works with clients designing, planting and creating superb gardens.

Today’s guest shares how she escaped her toxic relationship in Australia to return to the UK.

Today’s guest has been a Marketing Manager, a Dog Groomer, and a Client Success Manager. After a 5-year stint in Australia, and finding herself in a toxic relationship, Elizabeth Hack decided it was time to return to her home in the UK. A move Elizabeth can truly say she is so pleased she did it!

Today she is an International Business Coach for Chiropractors helping them “move the needle” resulting in improved profits, free time, and confidence in their business/life

After spending 14 years as a project manager in the voluntary sector, Eli decided to set up her own business so she could balance motherhood and work.   Her own mother had raised her to be environmentally aware and on the back of a chance opportunity her friend had to make use of some old leather, Eli has set up a successful business running workshops making handbags from reclaimed leather.

Today’s guest left teaching after 12 years.  She was burnout, depressed and suicidal.  She went through a divorce and retrained as a Reiki Master and Quantum Energy Healer working with women in pregnancy while continuing to tutor on the side as she built her business.  

Then on a walk one day she had an AHA Moment to support families who had to home school their children. 

She now facilitates a growing community called the Home Education Hub.  She is founder of the Switched ON! Academy.  Her ethos is to value emotional and spiritual growth to support academic success.

Today’s guest travelled around the world solo for just over 2 1/2 years with her bicycle, visiting 15 countries on 4 continents.  She got back into cycling after her sister had died and she found that when she was on the bike there was nothing else that she could do but think about cycling. 

She started off with day rides in the UK but soon extended it to a world trip ending up in Taiwan and South Korea before heading home through Europe.

Today’s guest started her career in youth work & community facing roles in various charities, her local authority, and the NHS before taking a break and deciding to become a Personal Trainer.  Carole O’Leary now specialises in weight loss, running and boxercise. 

As a keen runner herself, she has a particular interest in helping beginners get from (nought) to 5k or even to half marathons and beyond by training in the great outdoors.
