Steve Mnuchin is counting on the generosity of your children's children.
And by "generosity", I mean strict obedience to the tax code.
After all, SOMEONE will have to repay the national debt into which future generations will invariably be born as a result of his proposed bailout of the entire national economy. Any check from the government you get today is going to be repaid at gunpoint by your kids tomorrow.
Bet on it.
While financiers were furiously rubbing their hands and salivating over the prospect of feasting on the blood money of the unborn this weekend, I had a chance to catch up with political prisoner Christopher Cantwell regarding his thoughts on the crisis.
I'll also be covering the latest news from the financial side of the Holocough and getting into a letter from a listener regarding Curt Doolittle's Propertarian "solution" to the crisis (spoiler alert: it's almost exactly the same as Steve Mnuchin's).
This is EPISODE 394 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
A potential cure for Wu Flu has been found:
Print more money.
According to Bank of America, “salvation” will come from "aggressive action", and “there should be no upper bound for the size of stimulus." In other words... We can get through this if we destroy the money supply, bail out the banks, and sacrifice the unborn on the altar of transgenerational debt.
Buy the derrrrrp! Crisis averted!
Most of Washington emphatically agrees. When your only tool is a money printer, every problem starts to look like a credit crunch.
We're also going to be discussing the potential impact on the housing and labor markets, and what that might mean for Millennials and Zoomers.
This is EPISODE 393 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
David Icke sure does use a lot of dog whistles:
The Silicon Valley crazies. The one percent. The globalists. The global elite. The small group at the top of the pyramid. The cult in charge of the word. The technocrats. The reptilian shapeshifters.
Don't worry, David. We're reading you loud and clear (wink wink).
Though certainly more eccentric than a lot of other pundits, David Icke is among the few who have been warning for decades about the rise of the surveillance state and the coming cashless society. It may have taken the better part of thirty years for his prognostications to pan out but it's starting to look as though he may be vindicated in the wake of Wu Flu.
Others have echoed his predictions: Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Alex Jones, Stefan Molyneux -- to name a few. Unfortunately, these warnings fell on deaf ears due to the fact that everyone sees themselves as a potential beneficiary of the money printer going brrrrrrrr.
No one wants to be the one to end the Fed's cocaine party.
The reality of physical scarcity will set in soon enough, as we are already starting to see. We'll be covering all the latest details.
This is EPISODE 392 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
Corona-chan is the GIF who keeps on giving.
Stonks are in the shitter, the money printer is going brrrrrr, and the world is coming to a standstill over the Wu Flu -- and we are just now FINALLY going to start turning "asylum seekers" and illegals away at the border.
Maybe this crisis could have been controlled a lot earlier had we gotten that moratorium we were promised back in 2016, but I suppose it's better late than never. I, for one, am thankful that we finally have a pretext to turn back the invaders.
We're going to be discussing COVID-19, the economy, and immigration at length today.
This is EPISODE 391 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
The entire world is on lockdown (except America, naturally), and the worst is yet to come.
Everyone agrees that this is true, even if they disagree on how we got here or how to proceed.
Because even if the coronavirus was an empty bun that disappeared tomorrow, the hole it pricks in the Mother of All Bubbles is still going to mean chaos for the entire global economy. Unfortunately, the virus is not going to disappear tomorrow, nor will the behavior it inspires.
The economy has been a bubble in search of a pin for a long time. Maybe exporting our savings through inflation to third world shitholes where people shit in the streets, wipe their asses with their hands, and eat uncooked bats was kind of a shortsighted plan? The coming recession will hopefully afford everyone the opportunity to reflect on the costs we're having to pay for the globalization of our economy.
In the meantime, we're going to fiddle while Rome burns and describe the dominoes as they fall. Hopefully we can make enough of an impact on the fringes to have a ripple effect on the broader conversation. Maybe then we can avoid making these same mistakes again.
This is EPISODE 390 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
When in doubt, print your way out.
I had a chance to speak with Christopher Cantwell over the weekend regarding the Wu Flu, the coming economic crisis, and his own personal circumstances as a political prisoner.
Shockingly enough, none of our big-brained Austrian arguments were enough to stop the Federal Reserve from cutting rates and dumping cash on the banks over the weekend.
Plus: school cancellations and business closures as far as the eye can see. Is the happening finally happening? Is the big igloo upon us? Will Trump declare martial law?
I've got the latest!
This is EPISODE 389 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
The little speech Trump gave the other night didn't do him any good.
Jared Kushner and Steve Mnuchin have been working overtime since the President banned travelers from Europe to reassure Kochsuckers and neocons of all flavors that trade will remain open between Europe and the United States. "He misspoke when he said the ban applies to cargo! He went off script when he wasn't supposed to!"
Still wasn't enough to stop a 10% fall across all major indices, prompting the Fed (presumably at the request of Steve Mnuchin) to step out and promise trillions more in helicopter cash for failing banks.
Given that Wu Flu Panic is still spreading, we clearly haven't hit the floor yet.
I've got all the latest!
This is EPISODE 388 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of the cure.
It is in that spirit that President Trump has taken the bold and decisive step of barring entry to European travelers who try to enter the United States.
My thought? Now do Africa and South America.
If we're going to be banning travelers from entire continents, we might as well ban EVERYONE, like Israel did. If a preventative measure is good enough for Our Greatest Ally, it should be good enough for us.
Right?
And while Europeans might have been banned in an effort to prevent the spread of the Chinese coronavirus, our own southern border is still wide open. The acting director of ICE says it will take about 140 years at the current rate to deport the illegals who entered the country over just the last two years.
Womp womp.
And that bear market we just entered? TOTALLY not an economic crisis, by the way. That's why the Fed is going to aggressively slash rates and dump helicopter cash on the entire global economy. The problem? The media and the deep state (but I repeat myself) have the bubble confused for the pin that pricked it, and their proposed solution will only make matters worse.
I've got the latest!
This is EPISODE 387 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
If migrants were algae or wood ticks, leftists would be desperate to keep them out.
Greece has finally reached that level of desperation itself due to the recent wave of invaders coming out of Turkey. The media is working overtime to drum up sympathy for these invaders, even going so far as to claim that they were "forced to strip" by Greek border police? The reality? They voluntarily chose to unclothe after trying (and failing) to illegally enter Greece in the same way Guatemalans illegally enter Mexico -- by river.
Mass invasion isn't working out so well in America, either. Not for the domestic population, and certainly not for the Bernie Sanders campaign, which took a huge hit last night in Michigan. Apparently Michigan's Somali population isn't feeling the Bern.
I've got the latest!
This is EPISODE 386 of So to Speak w/ Jared Howe!
If the President was really so sure that COVID-19 won't have a broader impact on the economy, his Working Group on Financial Markets wouldn't be slashing rates and pumping $150 billion dollars a day into repo markets.
...and yet here we are in the midst of anuddah bank bailout.
Stocks are tanking, future uncertainty is increasing, and pressure is mounting on the Federal Reserve once again for yet another Quantitative Easing program -- all while we're in the midst of a trade war with the countries who supply the vast majority of our goods over their attempts to get out from underneath the dollar before its purchasing power collapses.
If we're going to have to deal with some short term pain either way, this is a perfect pretext to let a recession happen and bring our manufacturing base home.
We'll be talking about this in further depth.
