The former had all 16 charges against him dropped by a prosecutor who says he's guilty on the grounds that fake hate crimes are non-violent offenses; the latter got a 13-month sentence in the private wing of a county jail (with daily work release!) for what is probably the most widely publicized and scrutinized child sex trafficking network in the United States -- and then the judge in his case died.

We'll be taking a look at both situations in more depth, then we'll be getting into recent stories about Israel, Bob Kraft, cuts to funding for pro-abortion groups, and the incompetence of our ruling elite.

...so should we expect the Kochs, Steyers, Soroses, Zuckerbergs, Jobs, Gates, Rockefellers, and Adelsons of the world to follow suit in short order?

Andrew Yang made headlines yesterday by coming out against circumcision, though he immediately hedged his stated opposition to it by informing Twitter that he "fully supports the freedom of parents to adopt circumcision for any religious or cultural ritual as desired" because he "actually attended a brit milah himself" and "felt privileged to be there".

So routine medical genital mutilation.... that's not okay. Superstitious ritual genital mutilation?

In today's episode of "privileged rich kids get offended over nothing", the student body president of Bates College called the police and the press after discovering a single flier posted on campus that said, "It's Okay to be White."

The police department responded by removing the fliers as they violated a city ordinance against  posting bills on telephone polls, but the responding officers didn't share in the fever dream delusion that this somehow constituted a hate crime.

And indeed, I find it it difficult to motivate myself to take issue with these fliers. Why isn't it okay to be white? White people must be pretty nice if the worst thing that's ever happened to you in Maine as a black guy is becoming student body president of the most expensive and prestigious school in the state and finding a flier that says it's okay to be white.

Oh, the oppression! Oh, the horror!

President Trump's emergency declaration for the border will remain in effect following the failure of Congress to gain a 2/3 majority in opposition to it. Whether it will actually result in a wall remains to be seen, but we're going to need it sooner rather than later if Bolton and Pompeo get their way in Venezuela.

And speaking of Venezuela, it looks like Juan Guaido is now under investigation for sabotaging the Venezuelan power grid.

The anxiety people feel about the automation of the economy is entirely understandable.

To their credit, the Democratic Socialists (Bernie Sanders, AOC, etc.) are making a good move by bringing it up. From the perspective of people who make their living from a particular skill or trade, automation is an existential threat. After all, what good is automation to an unemployed worker if they don't have an income with which to purchase the cheap goods and services that automation produces?

This is an entirely reasonable concern that absolutely needs to be addressed -- just not in the way most people think.
