Andy Walker - Founding Member (Captain of the Ship) of Mentell a Charity that provides a safe, non judgemental, confidential environment for men to "put down their baggage" "remove their mask" in a circle (online or face-to-face) of other men and openly talk about how they're feeling helping them to express themselves, share and prevent further negative thoughts about themselves, a situation, depression or other associated mental health problems.
Andy was a happy go lucky successful young man in his early 20's but life got on top of him through a series of unfortunate circumstances and he became depressed and came very close to taking his own life in his late 20's but didn't go through with it and made the decision to live.
During his journey of self discovery Andy stumbled across Mentell and indeed after a short period of time found himself running the Charity from the Top, he devoted himself to his "chosen path" and has also in the past 5yrs studied indigenous tribes and their approach to mental health vs western conventional methods as well as working closely with the NHS and other service providers to facilitate an "alternative" for men who are suffering.
Today if you log onto www.mentell.org.uk you can register and be in "circle" talking about how your feeling with other men within a week.
72% of men under the age of 49 in the UK are at the biggest risk of suicide and usually aren't known to be contemplating this to their GP's or other known professional services.
