The story in the Bible of the prodigal son is probably one of the best examples of one person’s struggle with whether he can do better on his own, make his own decisions, or live in the safety and protection of his father’s house. It’s a picture of how merciful God is to us when we decide to stray far from Him. He stands looking, waiting for our return with open arms. You can’t do better than that.
