Good. Lord. I (Sathya) spend twenty-five minutes just running my big mouth once again while Brock is out of town (don't worry you die-hard Brock fans - he'll be back). I rant and rave about "starving artists", the upcoming Daniels film Everything Everywhere All At Once, and why just going for it is best when it comes to your own personal projects.

Ready to get spooky? This week, we're joined by Emma Ragsdale and Zelda Kimble of "Across The Veil", a podcast about all things cryptid. Emma and Zelda are actors, amateur cryptozoologists, and unlikely friends whose shared fascination with the world of the supernatural resulted in the genesis of their podcast. "Across the Veil" explores a different cryptid in each episode in a storytelling format. We chat with our fellow podcasters about their backgrounds in acting, things that frighten us, and the best ways to promote your own show.

Holy hell, we're back. After two long years, we're back. And we're back with a bang. We sat down with actor, writer, and producer Rachel Kaftan to talk about her newest project "Boy Vey", a one woman show written by and starring Rachel herself! Rachel tells us about the origins of the show and how it stemmed from her love life and shares her thoughts as an actor getting started in the entertainment industry. She shares with us stories from her past and how coming up as a single child led to using her imagination to create worlds and stories.
"Boy Vey" is a funny yet insightful story about a girl trying to find love while struggling to reconcile her romantic life and her generational trauma surrounding the Holocaust as the two topics keep conflicting with each other. We saw the play and highly recommend you go check it out as well. But hurry! The show is in its final two weekends. Book tickets at www.santamonicaplayhouse.com/boyvey today!

Is reality ruining your life? Dreamcorp LLC might not actually exist, but our interview with actor, comedian, and writer Nick Rutherford is! Nick stars in and writes for Adult Swim's wonderfully weird Dreamcorp LLC and is also a staff writer on Rick and Morty! We sat down to chat with him about the origins of Dreamcorp, the development of both the real and dream universes, and the use of rotoscope animation. He also shares with us his experiences as a child actor, writing and performing sketch comedy with Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney, and his perspective on the accessibility of the entertainment industry for budding creatives. Be sure to check out Seasons 1 and 2 of Dreamcorp LLC on Hulu, and catch the brand new third season on adultswim.com! All 4 seasons of Rick and Morty are also available on Hulu along with Nick's 2018 comedy The Unicorn. Keep up with Nick on Twitter (@nickrutherford) and Instagram (nicholasrutherford)! We'll see you soon!
This episode of So You're an Artist is also partnered with the Across the Veil podcast. Tune in every Thursday to hear amateur cryptozoologists Emma and Zelda explore the things that lie... across the veil.
After a long break, we are once again joined by teacher, dancer, and photographer Jose Castro to close off our six-part series on representation and justice in the arts. It's been nearly five months since we last discussed the insurgence of support for social justice beginning with Black Lives Matter with Jose, and in this episode, we talk about the state of awareness and activation that has swept the global population. Additionally, we talk a little bit more about activism and what it means to be "activated". Jose also shares with us his new virtual program, "Life Master: The Practice of Adaptive Satisfaction", and you can sign up for either upcoming introductory seminar at the links below:

Hey look, we're not dead! We're back for a fresh episode of "So You're an Artist", joined via Zoom by Dr. Arnab Banerji. Arnab is an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts at Loyola Marymount University, and has his Ph.D in Theatre and Performance Studies with a focus on Bengali Theatre in Kolkata, his home city. I chat with Dr. Banerji about growing up in Kolkata, moving to the States, the theatrical styles of India both pre and post-Western Influence, and about contemporary Indian representation in the media. And, as a bonus, Arnab is a HUGE fan of "The Office", so we play a little trivia game at the end of the episode to see just how big a fan he is. Keep up with Arnab on Instagram (@arnabanerji) and learn more about him on his website at www.arnabbanerji.weebly.com! Be sure to check out his essays on performing Bengali identity and critical creative citizenship and the 13th South Asian Theatre Festival via the links below.

Oh boy. Here we are again. No Brock. No guest. Just 34 minutes of me (Sathya) running my mouth about our representation series, Spielberg's long takes, and what the liberal version of Alex Jones would be. Listen to this mess at your own risk. Or don't. But what you can do is follow us on Instagram (@artist.pod) or Twitter (@artist_pod) for updates, behind-the-scenes, and more! And leave us a review on Itunes if you like! We'll be back with a real episode soon!

Even though it may have faded away from your feeds, racial injustice is still happening. If you can, please take a few minutes to check out the links below to see how you can support justice for Jacob Blake, one of the latest victims of police attacks.
