Not so much a soccer player herself growing up, Maria found herself firmly in the mix of "The Beautiful Game" when BOTH of her multi-sport sons decided that THIS was the game for them! Student athletes of Christian Brothers College High School, each of her soccer players found themselves with very different COVID experiences - one in his senior high school year, while the other a freshman - and the whole family learning how to navigate along the way. With one son now at Maryville University in STL, and the other considering his options, listen in for her thoughts on competition, playing soccer in STL as a black athlete, and helping your kids to make the tough decisions that life throws at you.
