Not gunna lie, it’s been a rough week.
After a long string of bad luck with vehicles, everything came to a head last week when I got slapped with a bill for thousands of dollars because I forgot to pay an insurance bill Instalment.
It was my own fault, of course, but that, on top of PMSing Aaron’s mental instability made for a flurry of anxiety.
So what did I do? I reluctantly paid the bill, had a panic attack, and (probably jokingly...) decided to move away and start / join a commune.
Has life ever kicked you down so hard that you decided to run away to live in a commune? No, only me?
Welcoming our first ever guest to the Social Tea Podcast, my dear friend Payton, an educator of young minds, and I are talking about everyone’s favourite subject back in school - SEX ED!
I absolutely loved sex ed in school. Of course I was joking in that first line, but it genuinely was one of my favourite subjects. As my classmates would moan and groan, I would skip excitedly into the classroom and seat myself in the front row.
Not unlike today, little unfiltered Aaron never shied away from asking the awkward questions, and that remained true as I proudly raised my hand to ask questions like, “why are female condoms so HUGE?!”
It has since become a long term goal of mine, if and when I achieve my masters in counseling psychology, to visit schools and be the most badass sex ed teacher EVER! I want to be moulding little minds, teaching them about safe, consensual, orgasmic, pleasure-based sexual education.
So when I heard that Alberta might be rolling out a new curriculum that preached abstinence, a fire was lit under my ass like never before.
Kids are consuming media that glorifies sexual activity, they have access to porn on their cellphones, and lets not pretend like all their friends aren’t talking about it... like all the time.
It is our job, as adults, parents, educators, to make sure these kids are having the RIGHT conversations. So why not start here!
You meet a lot of interesting people working in customer service.
Some customers will make your day... others might make your news feed (here’s looking at you Karen).
In today’s episode Aaron takes a look back in time, reminiscing about all the fun... and not so fun, interactions she’s experienced working in customer service.
We also hear from a few listeners sharing stories of their own. All I can say is, people in customer service should get paid more for putting up with it all.
Have a story of your own? join Aaron live this Sunday, April 11 @ 7:30pm, for the 2nd Steep of the Social Tea Podcast.
We will be chatting LIVE and swapping war stories of battling Karens everywhere.

Clothing - often thought to be a means of self-expression... UNLESS you are a girl in high school.
As a young woman in high school, you will not be permitted to wear:
- tank tops on a hot day (your bra strap might peep out)
- skirts / dresses hemmed higher than your fingertips
- crop tops
- clothing that is too tight.
Why? Because we might distract the boys.
So instead of teaching young men to respect women, no matter what they are wearing, educators instead choose to interrupt the learning of young women, sending them home, calling them names, making them change.
A topic she loves to hate, Aaron shares her own experiences battling dress codes in schools in this episode of the Social Tea Podcast.
If you love todays rant, join Aaron live this Sunday, April 4 @ 9am, for the 2nd Steep of the Social Tea Podcast.
We will be chatting LIVE about all things school dress code related, sharing war stories if you will.

Aaron had her first internet troll on the 2nd Steep stream last Sunday, “so I’m pretty sure that means I’ve made it as a creative on the internet, right?”
On today’s episode, inspired by last Sunday’s 2nd Steep, we are talking all things goal setting.
Aaron shows a sneak-peak into her own list of goals, and acknowledges some of the traits and/or to-do’s that she perceives leads one to a more organized life style.
We also discuss the misconceptions about goal setting and habits - does NOT waking up at 5 am really mean you won’t be successful? We are calling that bluff.
If you love todays episode, join me live this Sunday, March 28, for the 2nd Steep of the Social Tea Podcast.
We will be chatting LIVE about all things goal setting, and working on our goals for February together! If you are a fellow bullet journalist, you’ll definitely want to join the party.

The Social Tea Podcast is all about the realities of the 25-year old human experience, so what better way to start us off than by discussing the quarter-life crisis.
Aaron discusses how she identified the trigger of her own quarter life crisis, diving into the sh*tty realization that not everyone comes to live the glamorous, aspirational life of their dreams (it gets a little depressing by the 7 minute mark...).
The truth is, the quarter-life crisis SUCKS, but it doesn’t have to consume your every thought.
This episode discusses the various ways Aaron has been able to move through this period, emphasizing the value of learning something new, and even turning to the distraction of finding a new hobby.
Remember, even though it may feel like you might just not be that special right now, “you are special to someone, you are special to me”.
If you love todays episode, join me this Sunday, March 21, for the 2nd Steep of the Social Tea Podcast.
We will be chatting LIVE about all things quarter life crisis. Whether you are experiencing it along side Aaron, have been through it and want to share your own tips and advice, skipped right over it and want to brag, or just want to join in a fun conversation about the realities of growing up...

I have been feeling a little uninspired in recent weeks, and I turned to some of my greatest mentors for inspiration (queue every Jenna Kutcher, Rachel Hollis, and Gary Vee podcast).
But who would have known that one of the BEST pieces of advice I would receive in regards to running my business, would come from my late grandfather.
In this episode of the #SocialTeaPodcast, we look at how the small details can have the largest impact on the customer experience you are providing to potential clients and/or customers.
What kind of experience are you providing to your customers, before even getting them on the phone?
Not sure? Then this episode is for you!
Do you practice self-discipline; the act of physically and mentally channeling yourself to complete a task.
Or do you wait; acting only when motivation comes from a moment of inspiration or your creative juices are flowing naturally?
Is one practice better than the other? Not necessarily.
In truth, your best practices will likely be determined by your field, and, assuming I'm talking to my fellow 20-something aspiring entrepreneurs, what a realistic time-line is if you're balancing managing a side-hustle in between a full, part-time, or multiple other jobs!
In this weeks episode of the #socialteapodcast I spill the tea on my own work habits, and we discuss the pros and cons of disciplined vs. motivation inspired work.
The podcast currently has 17 episodes available.
