Dr. Vern Poythress is Distinguished Professor of New Testament, Biblical Interpretation, and Systematic Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.

He’s been teaching at Westminster for over 40 years, and is an ordained teaching pastor in the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America). His research interests are in how the Trinitarian doctrine affects all of life, biblical interpretation, and hermeneutics. He’s written numerous books on biblical interpretation, typology, biblical theology, dispensational interpretation, and many more topics.

He was born and raised in Egypt and has taught in various countries in the Muslim world and in the West. His articles on Islam and Christian-Muslim relations have appeared in the Washington Post, Religion News Service, and First Things, among others.
