Sockscast

The Sockscast is back and ready to kick off 2015 as they get the ball-a-rollin' with a three-hour post-holiday poscast for you to get all nice and cozy to. Over the last two weeks Rhete has managed to play every single goddamn game EVER CREATED, John warps back to 1985 with gaming's most beloved franchise, and Polly has been in the same dungeon for almost twenty hours!

And here we are! The final Sockscast of 2014! The Game of the Year festivities come to their logical conclusion today with Polly, Rhete, and John counting down the top 5 games they played this year, pointing out a little disappointment here and there, going over the last haul of reader lists, and hopefully spreading some generally good feelings all around! Thank you to everybody that's stuck with us and guest hosted through this silly little podcast idea getting off the ground, and we'll catch you all in 2015!

2014 has officially wound down for the most part and it's time for Polly, Rhete, and John to start discussing their personal favorite games of the year, starting from number 10 and working their way up to number 6 today! We also have a glut of listener-submitted lists we'll be reading throughout to keep the festivities going! Was it YOUR list we read? Or maybe YOURS! Only one way to find out!

Otherwise known as "The Accidental 3D Sonic Games Discussion Episode," as John spent the last few weeks blazing through Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Rhete painted the world of Sonic Colors, and Polly...just wants to argue with John about this whole thing! After all the Sonic talk we find time to discuss other fun games like Freedom Planet, Cloudbuilt, FarCry 2, and Monument Valley!

Giant Bomb forums moderator (and star of his very own Flappy Bird clone game) MooseyMcMan joins the Socks Crew this episode and brings some tall tales of the latest Call of Duty and some fun go-karting action. Meanwhile, Polly just can't seem to bring herself ot leave the basement, Rhete's fighting a war of his own, and John still can't get enough self-imposed punishment in his videogaming!

The Sockscast gets loosey-goosey this week as Twitter's Very Own RaquelineRe joins us to find out what everybody's been up to for the last couple of weeks. Rhete seems to have lost himself down a Legend of Zelda rabbit hole, Polly's been witnessing the end of humanity as we know it, John's STILL can't get over Gone Girl, and Raquel's spent her time being utterly smashed. And lastly, will we ever get the answer to the most important question of all? Tune in and find out!

This episode of the Sockscast comes barrelling out of the gate with John crossing an important entry off his fabled "need to finish" list, Polly motorbiking cross country and wrecking any fools that get in her way, and Rhete instigating a discussion about not one, but TWO of the PS2's most fondly remembered games. Momi rejoins the Socks Crew as we brazenly dive head-first into our promised roguelikes discussion and yap on and on about the good and bad of all those fancy perma-death games everybody loves so much. Once that's out of the way, we engage in some pointless, though interesting enough to be included in a podcast banter before burying ourselves in all the email you kind folks sent us this week.
