The girls begin the show by discussing the recent death of Queen Elizabeth II. Lisa then shares the recipe for the Queen's favorite dessert and its simplicity.  With only four bakers left, the signature bake is discussed throuroughly.  This semifinal week contains one of the longest technical assignments to date, so the girls talk about the demeanor of the bakers as Kim Joy nearly gives up over chocolate mousse.  Three types of patisserie in the showstopper is exciting, but stressful. Lisa then shares an amazing new opportunity to view early episodes of Bake-off previously unavailable to Americans.  Happy Fall y'all!

This week's quarterfinal show features Danish baking. Though the girls can't  pronounce the bakes, they can sure talk about them! A signature rye sandwich bread once again showcases Kim Joy and her amazing creativity.  Allison praises her throughout the show, and, rejects Lisa from the Wisconsin rye council. A hollow pancake technical and celebratory pastry cake follow as challenges. 

The girls address the potential controversy over the week's star baker, and eliminated contestant- wandering if the decision was sexist. They give a shout out to Lisa's Mom and her truffles, and, as usual, crack each other up over just about anything. It's Danish week!

The very first vegan British Bake Off episode! Lisa and Allison embrace this episode of vegan pastries, pavlovas and celebration cakes. The girls talk about aquafaba and their mutual love for meringue. All the while they continuously praise the bakes of bakers Kim-Joy and Rahul. The side streets abound with Lisa's nutritional yeast knowledge,  and, memories of poke cakes from the 1980's.

It's Pastry week, and to kick things off, the girls lament their lack of love for this week's signature samosas. Lisa brings up the fact that deep frying isn't baking, and a reminiscence of the 1970's Fry Daddy ensues! The girls talk about the 'scandalous' technical bake and admit that neither would enjoy the showstopping banquet pie challenge. The topic of Octopuses comes up after Manon disappoints the judges with her sea creature bake called "Poppy". And, the girls step down a side street to find out just exactly who Oswald the Octopus is....Pastry Week!

Spice week is new for GBBO contestants, and it kicks off with a ginger cake signature.

Lisa and Allison discuss the state of the competition as two bakers are up for elimination.  The girls discuss the meaning behind bonfire cakes and the holiday they commemorate,  as well as lament the absence of ginger in American baking.

The biscuit chandelier showstopper is once again discussed as a JTS (jump the shark) moment that proves to be structurally stressful at best. The girls announce star baker, and the two eliminated this week. Lisa then closes the show with a very special guest announcement!
