The church that is motivated by the love of Jesus to serve is the one that continues to multiply. At Sojourn our desire is to be a church where everyone is serving because of the love of Jesus. We recognize that we serve Jesus by serving others and that our church should be characterized as a church that serves!

There is only one truth that the should characterize the church and that is Jesus' truth. As followers of Jesus we believe the Bible contains the very words of God and can be trusted to reveal who God is and what he has done; trusted to tell us who Jesus is and how he has reconciled us to God. The world may have its own understanding or definition of truth but the church is to submit to the authority of Jesus and His truth.

We live in a world that is increasingly opposed to the Christian faith and the Church, but even in the face of insurmountable odds the church should stand courageous. A Jesus church is one that is characterized by courage even in the face of mounting opposition and pressure from the surrounding culture. A courage that comes from knowing that Jesus is the conquering King

The church should be characterized by Love grounded in truth. It should be the most welcoming of places, a place where people can connect and belong. A place where grace abounds and people can find space to learn and grow. All of this should emulate the very same love that Jesus has shown to us!

The Gospel motivates us to mission because of who Jesus has made us to be. We are not missionaries because we travel great distance to tell others about Jesus. In fact Jesus has made us to be missionaries and because of that we have a purpose and that is to tell others about Jesus!

Following Jesus is an ongoing journey and like any journey it comes with its fair share of set back. Discipleship is all about learning to let Jesus be King over every area of our lives. But the motivation for that should not be simple obligation or guilt but a deep appreciation for what Jesus has done. The gospel should inform discipleship every step of the way

We all have a deep longing to belong, we are experiencing a loneliness epidemic in our culture today. The good news is that God has made it possible for us to become a part of his family, we belong to God, through Jesus!

What we believe impacts how we act, what we believe about the reality around us determines how we will interact with it. When the Gospel is at the centre of everything, when we truly believe the good news about what Jesus has done and said, it will change everything!
