When looking for a way to broaden the listenership of their podcast, they figured a revival of the character Paul Weston, from the oft-forgotten 2008-2010 HBO show In Treatment, was just the thing. Charlie takes the lead and inhabits the character “Charbriel Byrne” in order to pscyoanalyze listeners’ deepest issues and heartful queries about life. Camille, on the other hand, spends a lot of time discussing Sleepless in Seattle and apples. She also says “like” a lot. Like a lot a lot. And they talk about Wicker Man.

It’s Season 2 of #SoLA! After a brief hiatus, and a period “on the bubble”, Charlie and Camille are back with all your favorite segments: Harold Team names, drop-the-brown-put-on-a-tag, Charbriel Byrne (soon to be a regular segment), and Immediate Divorce. On this episode of #SoLA, Camille and Charlie attempt to have a film discussion all about Hollywood. Hollywood playing itself, that is; movies such as: Singin’ in the Rain, The Player, Bowfinger, the Coen Brothers’ Tragedy of Being A Screenwriter movies Hail, Caesar! and Barton Fink, La La Land and Mulholland Drive. They also ramble about how Robert Altman would have made an amazing modern mini-series director, Frank Oz being underappreciated as a director, John Cazale’s unrivaled resume, and many, many Donald Southerland movies. Naturally, they delve back into which Beatle is which Woody Allen movie then that quickly devolves into the game “What’s the One..?” Play it with your friends!

On this episode of #SoLA, things are a little different… Charlie and Camille have a new theme song, a new recording studio and a producer who wears shoes! For their first episode with the inimitable Will Hines (the brain behind Screw It, We’re Just Gonna Talk About The Beatles and Don’t Get Me Started), they delve into the fabled Hollywood art of selling yourself. Actor emails, upping your Instagram game, how to properly celebrate career news via your social media platforms and creating a Twitter presence (hint: Tweet more!)… it’s all part of the fun. 

Camille tries again to get cocaine. Charlie rants about his hatred of Elia Kazan: huge fan of naming names, not so much his films. They both discuss having managers with suspect offices, their love of Frank Capra and the importance of not driving like an asshole around your place of work!

On this episode of #SoLA, Camille and Charlie dive into another long story from their lives, as per listener request (and also because they are out of ideas). They go back to the past to tell the spiritual prequel to the Death of the Beamer, the harrowing tale of the First Death of the PT Cruiser. They also discuss the best roadside hotel chains, roadtrip games and passenger seat driving; as well as 80s sitcoms JR, Sam Malone, Alex P. Keaton, Mike Seaver and Dan Conner. 

Camille keeps refering to the episode as 37, saying there are only 13 left. In truth, this is actually episode 38 (yep, hard to believe). Which means… only 12 left to go! 

On this episode of #SoLA, it’s Sweeps Week! And this sweeps episode has everything you want from a Sweeps Week special: celebrity cameos, outrageous drama and even a cliffhanger! Someone shot Beamer Man… who could it be? You’d better tune in to find out.

Naturally, being Sweeps Week, there are lessons to be learned. Like, if you have to save your husband’s car from a firey inferno, The Beverly Center is the best mall at which to find yourself. Or, if you’re a lady in need, Josh Brolin is always ready to come to your rescue.

On this episode of #SoLA, Charlie and Camille discuss famous Hollywood scandals with their patented air of gentility and tact. Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Roman Polanksi and Phil Spector all make an appearance. Naturally, Natalie Wood comes up. And they ask: What is John Travolta’s deal? What’s up with Joe Rogan?! Based mostly on hearsay and conjecture, they delve into the darker side of Los Angeles, discuss the El Coyote connection to the Manson Murders and eventually devolve into a list of various celebrity sightings, as usual. 

Perhaps the biggest scandal of all is that #SoLA ever existed at all. 

On this episode of #SoLA, Camille coerces an already-pleasantly tipsy Charlie into recording an “emergency episode” for the next day. It's truly a new low.
