In this episode we reflect on our lent journey as we enter holy week.
In this episode we read and discuss the Gospel of John 6:16-21. It is easy to allow fear to control our lives but as Jesus tells us in the Gospel do not be afraid for it is I. Jesus calls us in the moments of fear to turn and to trust him allowing him to comfort us. It is not always easy to do however it is important because if we allow fear to consume us it can pull us away from our relationship with God and attached to sinful things.
In this episode we read and look over the readings for the fourth Sunday of Lent. I do the second reading and the Gospel. The readings are 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 and Luke 15:11-32.
In this episode I discuss the Gospel of Matthew 5:17-19 and talk about how Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. We are called to live, obey and teach the commandments and Jesus even says those who don't are called least to the kingdom of God. It is not always easy to uphold the commandments however, this does not mean we shouldn't and we as believers should hold our self and our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ accountable.
Its been almost a year sense I've posted an episode. I am happy to announce that I am back and will be posting more episodes and sharing and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. In this episode I give a update in what has been going on in my life this last year and why I've been away from podcasting. I also shortly discuss the fears and the unknowns going on in our life and in this world and how we should always give God control especially in the hardest moments.
This week episode we finish up the passion of Christ story in Matthew 27:1-61. Its important to remember on this Good Friday in what Christ did for us so the least we could do is live for him.
In this episode we read the first part of the passion of Christ in the gospel of Matthew 26:36-75.
In this episode we really dive deep into talking about how love is to give and not expect anything in return. We take a look at the gospel of Luke 6:27-35 and see that Jesus is calling us to love our enemies which is something that is not easy to do. However, the more we invest and have that relationship with Jesus the more possible it becomes for us to love like Jesus and this is something he is calling us to do.
In this week episode we look at the gospel of Luke 6:36-38. I discuss the importance of forgiveness and how Jesus calls us to forgive those who have done wrong to us. I emphasize that forgiveness is not easy but good for our hearts and our faith.
In this episode we look at Matthew 7:13-14. We learn that Jesus tells us the path way to heaven is very narrow and those who choose the path to eternal life are very few. We learn the tough reality that not everyone is going to go to heaven and there may even be people in our lives now who will not make it there. This lent season it is important to reflect where we are at in our relationship with Jesus and are we on the path towards eternal life? Jesus wants us in heaven but just because he wants us does not mean we will necessarily get there . In order to follow the path of eternal life we must give our life to Jesus and trust him fully and give up our wants and desires.
