It is normal and ok to grieve as a single parent raising a child/children with special needs. We can be made to feel guilty or even told that we should be glad that our children are alive. It is not that we are not glad or grateful, but we can grieve the lost dreams and milestones that may never be met. It is ok to express how you are feeling, and to even cry during times of meltdowns, setback, denials, and more. I am sending a hug your way.  

Hello. It is nice to meet you. It can be difficult to find resources for parents that are raising a child with special needs on their own. It can be very isolating, and it can be difficult to connect with others as you try to balance taking care of your household and caring for your child that can have a variety of emotional, mental, medical, and physical challenges. In each episode I want to provide hope, support, and encouragement to help you as you care for and advocate for your child.
