I’ve been reading Billy’s contact reports now for the best part of 15 years. A regular component of
the reports is commentary and discussion of current events, predicted future events (events thatwill occur with a 100% certainty) and prophetic events (future events that may occur, but are notcertain).Since the outbreak of the Ukraine war in February 2022, I’ve been watching global events unfold ina way that at many times feels akin to observing a slow-motion car crash. The evening of December 31, 1996 — New Year's Eve — was particularly cozy. We sat around the kitchen table in the soft light of a gas lamp and talked after we had dinner around 7 p.m. A power outage at around 5:50 p.m. condemned us all to inactivity and an evening without television, which gave rise to rare socializing. Not that we never sat together, but that Billy spent the entire evening with us without doing his usual work was rather unusual.

Every now and then it happens that people who got to know Billy before he achieved his current fame in our latitudes appear completely unexpectedly. These people met him while traveling or in foreign countries and often spent days, weeks, or even months with him.
The first to appear at the center in Hinterschmidrüti, accompanied by friends, was Michael Striewe from Hamburg, who wrote in our guest book on March 19, 1989: "After 22 years — and time has also been traveled — a reunion, and immediately the old magic was in the air." Unfortunately, Michael miscalculated the number of years because he had already met Billy in 1964 in New Delhi, where Billy was already a celebrity at that time because of his contacts with Asket. In India, and especially in Mehrauli, where Billy was living in the Ashoka Ashram at the time, people were quite open about UFOs, and they openly said that this was a matter of course for them and that it had been passed down for thousands of years. In contrast to our civilized world, Asket and her people in Mehrauli and the surrounding area were able to appear quite openly without having to shield themselves from view. They felt so free that Asket often visited the ashram, where Billy could be seen openly; however, she never came into contact with other people but always remained at a reasonable distance from the Earth's inhabitants. Before his collapse in November 1982, Billy's conscious powers often gave rise to discussions among us core group members and also among the regular guests and passive members. One or two people tried to imitate Billy more or less openly at one time or another, but it was always a one-off endeavor, like the one I witnessed.
One evening in August 1980, as we often did, we were sitting around the kitchen table after work. Billy, Thomas Keller, Roland Rüegsegger, Silvano Lehmann, Uschi Büchli, Freddy Kropf, and I, Bernadette Brand, as well as a few others, were present. Once again we talked about what Billy could do with his conscious powers, and Billy tried to make an honest effort to make it clear to us dull-witted listeners what was involved and in which direction one should strive if one wanted to achieve something similar. He was probably spurred on by our uncomprehending — not to say stupid — expressions to demonstrate his skills once again and thereby illustrate his words.
So a five-franc coin was placed between the two table tops so that a little more than half of it was sticking out from the top, whereupon those present braced themselves against it so that the piece of money sat firmly in place. Billy and a few of the men, including Thomas Keller and Roland Rüegsegger, tried to move the five-franc piece or pull it out of the gap in the table, which was unsuccessful because those sitting around the table did their best to hold it.

On the evening of May 11, 1980, around 10 p.m., Billy sat with Wendelle Stevens on the sofa in front of the house and enjoyed the already warm evening with him. Suddenly, Billy was struck by severe lower back pain, so much so that he could no longer sit still and was writhing back and forth. It was a strange pain in the back that he knew very well and that warned of a lurking danger. The movements caused by the pain saved his life, because he had barely sensed the danger and said to Wendelle, "There is something wrong," when something flew just 8–10 mm past his skull, slammed into the wall a few centimeters to the left of his head, and sprayed him with mortar while a shot rang out.

I had also heard the shot, but I reacted much less courageously than Silvano had two years earlier. Sitting behind the typewriter at my work, I heard footsteps on the gravel path and automatically assumed that Jacobus was still on the way. A little later, a shot was fired not far from my door. The bang pinned me to my chair, and I stared in horror at the door when it was thrown open and Gilgamesha (then called 'Chrugel') stormed in and shouted: "Did you hear it too? Someone shot at Daddy!"

The following event took place on Thursday around 4:15 p.m. As usual, I left the company where I work to drive to Winterthur via Sonnenbergstrasse, Gockhausen, and Industrie Dübendorf. On Sonnenbergstrasse, I quickly decided to take a small detour in order to return to the usual route past the Hotel Dolder via Adlikonerstrasse. Due to my poor knowledge of the area, I missed the correct turn-off and drove in exactly the opposite direction to the planned direction. Shortly before the junction of Adlikonerstrasse and the so-called 'Katzen Schwanz' (Cat's Tail), I found my way again and decided to turn left in order to get back on the right path. I turned on the indicator and turned my car properly to the left when I suddenly felt a strange restlessness. Suddenly, my previous determination had given way to uncertainty, and I simply no longer knew whether I really wanted to turn left or whether I wanted to turn right. From where I was, it would probably have been better to turn left, but somehow I just couldn't manage it.
While I was still struggling to make a decision, my thoughts suddenly began to revolve around Billy. Above all, I couldn't get it out of my head that he had told me the day before that he had been offered two devices cheaply in Dübendorf that he would actually like to buy.
