We speak with Secret Service expert Vince Palamara about various anomalies with the President's protection in Dallas on November 22, 1963, including the agent's being hungover, the bubble top removal, the planning of the route, the removal of motorcycles alongside the vehicle, and the rearranging of the motorcade personnel (including removing the press truck).

In this episode, we review Bolden’s claim that, on November 2, 1963, in addition to a potential threat from lone gunman, Thomas Arthur Vallee, there was also a failed plot against President Kennedy in Chicago by four men who had rifles. Bolden says that the Secret Service covered up the Chicago plot, and then, when he tried to come forward to the Warren Commission, he was framed for a crime, which resulted in him serving time in prison.

Over the next few episodes, we’ll analyze the granular details of the Secret Service’s actions on the day of the assassination and the lead up to it. The big overarching question is whether there was something more than mere negligence. Were the security failures a series of unfortunate coincidences, or was there someone intentionally making the motorcade less secure? 

In this episode, we analyze whether the Secret Service agents drank excessive alcohol the night before. We also look at what led to the removal of the bubble top from the presidential limo. Why was local law enforcement not more involved? And why was the police motorcycle presence decreased in Dallas?
