Have you ever reached the end of a hard day and found yourself replaying everything that went wrong?
The moment you lost your patience. The things you didn't finish. The conversation you wish had gone differently.
Sometimes, after spending the day caring for everyone else, we just want to feel like ourselves again.
In this episode of the Soul Care Mom Podcast, we're exploring how to gently find our way back to ourselves after a difficult day.
Because a hard moment doesn't have to define your whole day. And you don't have to wait until tomorrow to begin again. 🤍

In this episode, I’m joined by Alice O’Connell, former TV and theatre actress and founder of Learn to Knit, to talk about creativity, self-compassion, motherhood, perfectionism, and her beautiful “One Stitch at a Time” philosophy.
Alice first learned to knit while working on sets like Doctor Who and Silent Witness, and over the years, knitting became much more than a creative hobby.
Our conversation explores what can happen when we slow down enough to work with our hands, give ourselves permission to be beginners, and return our attention to the one small thing right in front of us.
Whether you’ve been knitting for years, have secretly wanted to learn (like me! 🧶), or simply feel drawn toward bringing more creativity into your life, I think you’ll love this conversation.

Sometimes a memory from years ago returns without warning.
Something you said.
Something you missed.
A moment you would handle so differently now.
And suddenly, you’re looking back at an earlier version of yourself with everything you’ve learned since—wondering why she didn’t already know.
In this tender episode of the Soul Care Mom Podcast, Catherine explores what happens when growth brings us face-to-face with the mother we used to be.
This is a conversation for the mom carrying old moments in her heart. The mom who has changed, yet still struggles to offer compassion to the woman she was before that growth happened.

Have you ever found yourself mentally tallying up the day?
The moments you were present.
The moments you were distracted.
The things you wish you had done differently.
The quality time you wonder if you should have created.
And underneath all of it, one quiet question:
Am I doing enough as a mom?
In this episode, Catherine explores the invisible scorecard so many mothers carry and the pressure to constantly measure how well we’re doing.
This is a conversation about connection, comparison, presence, and the ordinary moments of motherhood we can so easily overlook.
If you’ve been feeling like you should be doing more, creating more, or somehow getting motherhood “more right,” this episode offers a gentler way to look at the days you’re already living.

What Is Self-Care…Really?
Have you ever finally gotten a little time to yourself…
and somehow still felt tired when it was over?
For years, I thought self-care meant getting more space from my life.
A quiet morning.
A massage.
A little time where nobody needed anything from me.
But the more I paid attention, the more I realized that sometimes what I was craving wasn’t simply a break.
It was something deeper.
In this episode, we’re exploring what self-care can look like when it stops feeling like one more thing to do and starts becoming a way of staying connected to yourself in the middle of real life.
If you’ve ever thought, I know I need to take better care of myself… I just don’t know how to make that fit into this season, this conversation is for you.

You’ve read the books. You’ve listened to the podcasts. You know connection matters. You understand that behavior is communication. You know you want to pause, soften, and respond with intention.
And still… sometimes motherhood gets the better of you.
In this episode of the Soul Care Mom Podcast, Catherine explores a question she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about:
What if the next thing you need isn’t more parenting advice?
Because learning matters. Growth matters.
And sometimes the next step is allowing the wisdom we’ve already gathered to sink in.

What if some of the moments you remember most aren’t the ones you planned at all?
In this episode of the Soul Care Mom Podcast, we’re exploring the space between planning our lives and actually being present for them.
We’ll talk about making plans without gripping them, leaving enough margin for surprise, allowing ourselves to feel disappointed when things don’t go as expected, and noticing the ordinary moments of motherhood that may quietly become the ones we remember most.
We don’t have to stop planning beautiful things.... maybe we simply need enough room to notice the life happening beside the plan. 💕
