“Hi, I’m Ursula. I moved to this island last week so I can work on my surfing and enjoy the slower pace of life.” A few other women introduced themselves around the wooden table and then: “Hey, my name is Jenna. I’m here for a month to learn how to surf.”
That was our first introduction during the island girls meet-up at our soon to be favourite beach cafe, Ombak.
A few days later, after a little group Whatsapp stalking to find each other, we arranged to meet at the same cafe to connect one on one.
The coffee date lasted 3 hours.
We sat with our toes in the sand, chatting over the sound of the waves, and watching the locals surf. Our conversations quickly turned to meaningful topics; our goals as entrepreneurs, friendships and relationships, what we were doing for self development, our sex lives, and the growth journey we’d both been on.
We both felt totally motivated from the meet up.
“We should find a way to record these conversations!” We agreed a few days later as we paddled out of the surf together after having another meaningful conversation between sets.
And that is how Soul, Sex & Strategy was born.
