We are facing another mass shooting in Texas, and this podcast will address the issue. The issue is more profound than gun laws, and I believe we need to get guns out of the hands of mentally unhealthy people. The deeper problem involves the inner person (soul, heart, mind, and spirit), which these four define the inner person or soul.
Every human being has a battle going on the inside. This is why the Apostle Paul says, For I know nothing good dwells in me that is in my flesh. (Romans 7:18) So, we see that the body has no way of providing us an escape from the attack on the inner person.
We do know that sin still resides in our mortal bodies. The question is, where does it live? It lives in the heart of every human being. This is why Jeremiah tells us the heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9) We are all walking around with a soul disorder, and the sinful nature of humanity is still alive and well in the hearts of every person.
All humanity needs someone to regulate our hearts because of our inability to know right from wrong. So, God, in His love for us, sent His son to die for us so His Spirit could tame the wrenched human being we are.
We have no hope of taming the soul disorder except through the Holy Spirit that lives in every believer. When soul disorder is left to humanity, soul disconnection occurs, and humanity has no hope. This is because the outer person collides with the inner person, and the outer person dominates the inner person due to the lack of the governing authority, the Holy Spirit. The domination of the outer person leads to soul disconnection, and innocent people become victims.
