Mr. Schanzenbach is a white man, a father, a husband, and a leader that is willing to take on a different perspective as he is open to learning from another's lense of the world. He talks about experiences adaptability during COVID and how we might incorporate virtual meetings into future meetings, how he did not have to have the "talk with his four sons about police interactions" and how he was unaware that this kind of discrimination even existed as he grew up in the melting pot of California. How he is in support of ongoing education to stop racism and ignorance on hearing loss as well. Mrs. Green was a delightful woman from my 8-year-old perspective. I don't know if she was lonely, that never occurred to ask. She was an adult that was offering kindness, cookies, and milk to one of her former students. And, she forever timestamps that exchange where color did not enter into my mind nor does it now. Just people being people. Let's respect one another and care for one another.
