Michael Ball is a portfolio manager and Certified Financial Planner Practitioner at Weatherstone Capital Management. Michael's experience
in the financial industry spans 20 years of working with people to manage their
investment portfolios and helping them achieve their financial goals. Michael's
a nationally recognized money manager that is tracked by money manager review.
From 1989 through 1994 Michael was a participant in Money Manager Verified
rankings and was ranked third in the country for the mutual fund division in
1990. Michael is also the author of “Built to Last” a comprehensive historical
study of sustainable withdrawal rates from investment accounts that was
published in financial planning magazine in 1998. In addition to working with
individual investors and small businesses, Michael provides money management
services to financial advisors across the country. After graduating from Utah
State University with a BA in corporate finance and a minor in accounting,
Michael managed investment programs for The Bank of Idaho and Sky Valley Bancorp where
he was also a member of the investment committee. Today he is president and
portfolio manager at Weatherstone Capital Management. Michael holds to the
philosophy that for clients in or near retirement, the volatility found in
today's financial markets is unacceptable. By using active management services,
Weatherstone Capital Management strives to increase the probability of better
and more consistent returns while providing peace of mind from knowing that the
investments are being monitored and managed daily.
