A very special sad little Christmas tale I read long ago and have never forgotten.  Your Humble host is now proud to read it to you.

Your Humble Host is proud to present Volume 8 of our one of a kind Christmas Music & Gildy Specials!!   Hot off the presses or hot off the recorder comes our brand new 2022 Christmas Special.   Not only is the music wonderful but it's an extra special Sounds Like Radio for the Great Gildersleeve episode that Your Humble Host has in store for you.   

Today's Christmas episode of GIldy is not to be found anywhere or even described in Gildersleeve logs.   It is truly an exclusive Gildersleeve straight from Your Humble Host's own private collection of tapes I recorded back in the day.   Today's show is one of the very last if not the very last Christmas episode of the Great Gildersleeve series.  It comes from either December 20, 1956 or December 19, 1957 it's not even described in the surviving logs except only as a broadcast date.   Willard Waterman tells the story of the Ringing of The Chimes and he tells it in the most beautiful fashion ever.  I've heard other versions from prior years of Willard's Gildy but this last Christmas episode Willard really gives it his all in this final telling.   

A beautiful Christmas episode deserves the best Christmas music to go with it.   We got more never heard anymore Christmas songs for you today from deep in our Christmas Musical Library of Sound.  Great singers are here, so is a visit from Grandpa and Jimmy Dean and you won't believe it but the star of North By Northwest and the Christmas classic movie The Bishop's Wife, you guessed it, if not, you'll hear from him today.   All the stars come out to sing and perform on Sounds Like Radio's Christmas Specials.

From Volume 71 of the Vast Library of Sound comes a really nice Christmas story as told to you by none other than Boris Karloff!

But this is NOT the Grinch story, no sir, today Boris is going to tell us all about The Year Without A Santa Claus!  Not many people are even aware that Boris also told this Christmas story too.  And told like no one else can, listen to this wonderful story teller and gather the kids for this one, it’s for all the family.  

That, by the way is Boris Karloff himself in today's picture for this show as he's dressed as Santa making a Yuletide Call.

Time for the Library of Sound Volume 152 direct from the Shep Wing.   Welcome friends to another Exclusive Jean Shepherd Show only heard here as this is another of my own recorded original Shep tapes.   It's a show about Jean as a kid receiving a Lead Soldier Making kit from his Uncle.   A very interesting and entertaining show that is not really a Christmas show but as it involves gift giving I thought this a good time to play it for you.   Recorded by Your Humble Host on May 14, 1975 but it was originally broadcast live on October  17, 1974.   Enjoy a rarely heard kid story from our favorite story teller Jean Shepherd!

Nero Wolfe Returns just in time to go to a Christmas Party.  This is the Nero Wolfe Christmas story on Volume 60 originally broadcast on February 13, 1982.   Based on the Rex Stout original story from 1958's "Four To Go" novel.   Santa Claus & mystery have always gone together and so they do on a Christmas Edition of Sounds Like Radio's Nero Wolfe from our Vast Library of Sound!

In Volume 69 from the Vast Library of Sound Christmas Editions it’s time Jack Benny to go Christmas shopping for his announcer, Don Wilson.  Originally broadcast December 8, 1946 listen to the first of the many Christmas shopping shows Jack would do every year.   A follow-up to this show is coming soon!
