Michael Swango, born in Quincy, Illinois in 1968, was brilliant. So much so, that he chose to become a doctor of medicine. While most doctors choose the profession because they want to help people, and use their skills for good, Michael Swango chose it for evil. From a young age, he was a narcissist and a sociopath, who was obsessed with car crashes. He made himself a scrapbook filled with newspaper clippings of horrendous tragedies and death. He then worked his way through medical school and became an EMT. But once Michael Swango started out on his professional journey, something was not quite right. He made strange comments, was fascinated with illness and then...seemingly healthy patients under his care started dying of suspicious causes. His colleagues even fell ill with inexplicable ailments. He made his way from Illinois to Ohio where nothing was done about his behavior, and, eventually ended up in South Dakota, where he was finally fired and investigated for his evil deeds. But he didn't stop there, pretty soon he was a wanted man by the FBI, but Michael Swango had already made his way to Africa, where he started killing more.
