            Constant—God is constantly at work.

            Complete—God will complete his work.

            Spend time in prayer.

            Saturate your heart with God’s Word.

Introduction:

I believe that God wants us to strive for unity and faithfulness.

1. Strive for Unity in Maturity

The gospel goes way beyond our salvation and empowers our sanctification.

            Be rigid in the gospel and flexible on everything else.

            Be real in an authentic community of believers.

Quote: “It is easy to watch the show, but it is biblical to gather in communities and live on mission.”

Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Introduction

I believe that God has a purpose for my life.

1. God is ALWAYS at work in your life. (v. 28)

Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

1. God is MOVING you to His eternal high purpose. (v. 29)

God’s purpose is more INTERNAL than it is EXTERNAL. The more you focus on WHO you are, the more WHAT you do comes into picture.

If you want to know what God has for your life, FOCUS on WHO you are.

1. God created you to live with His purpose on your MIND. (v. 31)

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

We can have hope when life is chaotic, because God is in control.

1. God Is at Work in His Time. (vv. 1–2)

Galatians 4:4–5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

1. God Is at Work in His Ways. (vv. 2–6)

            To accomplish His promises

Micah 5:2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

2 Samuel 7:12-13 When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

            To accomplish His plans (vv. 5–6)

1. God Is at Work for His Own Purpose. (vv. 6–7)

Luke 1:26-38

When life is complicated, God’s Word is the way forward.

1. FRUSTRATION is a moment to listen. (v. 29)

Quote: “God isn’t always leading us to the safest route forward but to the one where we’ll grow the most.”

Instead of responding in frustration, let it be a moment of faith in God.

Quote: “A person’s spiritual maturity isn’t truly visible until they don’t get their way. Then you see the person.” —Eric Reed

1. FEAR is a moment to trust. (v. 30)

When you trust God’s Word, He will lead you from FEAR to FAITH.

1. FOLLOWING is the way forward. (v. 38)

Psalm 31:5 Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

When your heart wants control, determine to commit your life to God.

Reordering your priorities begins with focusing our hearts to worship God.

1. We lift our hands to the God who satisfies. (v. 1)

               Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

1. Live Confidently (vs. 10)

                1 Peter 1:6-7: You have been grieved by various trials so that the tested genuineness of your faith may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

God by His grace will Restore, Confirm,  Strengthen, and Establish us.

Introduction

Your worry is no match for God’s PLAN and PASSION for you.

1. The Problem of Anxiety

            People-pleasing: Somebody may not like, love, or respect us. When they don’t, we are afraid that we’re not really important. We hardly say no, because we’re afraid that we might lose the love/respect of others.

            Perfectionism: We strive to make sure that everything is right all the time—the house, our clothes, our appearance, our work, our projects. Our identity is secure, as long as everyone around us thinks we are nailing it.

            Protection (over): We try to protect from every hurt, illness, financial, and safety issue. I am not talking about neglect.

            Performance/Purpose: If you are like me, there is a temptation to find your purpose in what you do and what you’ve accomplished. We must work to focus on our primary calling of being a disciple of Jesus.
