In this interview we are diving deep into the bloody, visceral world of one of cinema's most legendary horror franchises.
Join me and Tandi as we deconstruct the movie, Evil Dead Burn! She portrays a powerful character who is selfless to save her family by literally going to hell. She also shared some terrifying behind-the-scenes secrets, expressing the fun on set while exhibiting her stunt work. She also mentions the toughest challenges while delivering an unforgettable performance. There’s no doubt that she’s talented and a master of her class for bringing such raw, powerful emotion to the screen.
Evil Dead Burn is still playing exclusively in theaters right now. Trust me, it is a nasty, relentless ride that you need to experience on the biggest screen possible.
Today, we are strapping ourselves into the therapist's chair to dissect one of the most unsettling psychological horror films of the year. Bare Skin drags its audience into a claustrophobic, dialogue-driven nightmare where group therapy turns into a terrifying anthology of trauma. I am joined by Christina Kroell – who plays Pam and who is here to unpack the madness and how she was able to portray a character holding onto secrets that are bound to make your skin crawl.
She gave us a glimpse behind the curtain of Pam's mind and showing us how much blood, sweat, and tears go into crafting a truly psychological performance. For everyone watching and listening at home, go stream Bare Skin right now, lock your doors, and make sure to follow Christina Kroell on social media to track her upcoming horror projects. Until next time, stay spooky, keep it creepy, and we'll see you in the next nightmare!
Welcome back, you little heathens! In this episode we are taking a detour off the main path and diving into the twisted, terrifying, and completely wild world of the 2020 horror slasher, Fear Pharm. Imagine heading to a VIP Halloween corn maze with your friends, only to discover you are the main ingredient for a deranged family harvesting skin for a miracle cosmetic cream.
Sit down with Aimee and me as we discuss the unique and dark premise—a deranged family harvesting the "perfect skin" of teenagers in a corn maze for a breakthrough cosmetic cream. Kind of sounds like a cosmetic commercial that has gone terribly wrong, right? Maybe their born with it or maybe is Maybelline… Who knows?
A massive thank you to Aimee for surviving the maze and stopping by to share these fantastic behind-the-scenes stories with us. If you haven't seen it yet—or if you just want to experience the madness again—you can check out Fear Pharm on Amazon, Fandango, Tubi, and Apple TV. Until next time, stay safe, and maybe stick to the brightly lit paths this Halloween season.
Welcome back, horror fans! In this interview, we took a trip deep into the heart of Romania. My guest is the incredible breakout star of the new indie horror hit, Transylvania Tapes. She plays Mara Enescu—a young woman who returns to her homeland to uncover the dark truth behind her mother’s disappearance, only to find herself trapped in a living nightmare.
I absolutely loved this film due to its location, and I am huge sucker for anything Romania and Dracula (no pun intended). Even though Valeria delivers her role in a flawless way, I am I was more worried about her character and what she might discover. I felt the emotional connection that she had with her mother throughout the entire film and what her journey meant to her.
Overall, Transylvania Tapes is a unique blend of found footage and classic Eurohorror. The film captures a distinct, eerie vibe because it was shot entirely on location in Romania.
Welcome back, horror fans! When Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones hit theaters, it breathed terrifying new life into the series by shifting the supernatural chaos to the vibrant, tight-knit streets of Oxnard, California. At the absolute center of that shift was a tragic catalyst: Oscar Lopez. Shaken, frantic, and cosmically cursed, Oscar’s descent into darkness set the entire film's nightmare into motion.
This interview is priceless! Me being a super fan of the Paranormal Activity franchise, it was an absolute honor and pleasure to sit down with Carlos and get to know what happened behind the camera to create those raw, unforgettable scares, and how he grounded such a supernatural concept in real human emotion. For everyone watching at home, you can stream Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones right now to see Carlos's incredible performance for yourself.
In this episode, I had the honor and pleasure to sit down with the incredibly talented Holly Zuelle and briefly talk to her about her role in the upcoming movie “Hush Little Baby” which is due to be released in October 2027.
A massive thank you to Holly Zuelle for taking the time to share her experiences and giving us a glimpse into the making of Hush Little Baby. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the film's release, definitely a project to keep on your radar. You can follow Holly's journey on Instagram. If you enjoyed today’s episode, don't forget to subscribe and leave us a review. I am your host, Benjamin Dutill, and I will see you next time.
In this episode, I spoke with an actress who made the journey from Argentina to Los Angeles to study at the Performing Arts Conservatory and has since carved out a fantastic career on stage and screen—including work for Netflix and HBO. She is one of the lead stars of the hit indie horror-comedy The Fuzzies, where she plays Rose, a grounded schoolteacher who finds herself in the middle of a literal puppet-apocalypse.
Join us as we talk about physical endurance, grounded acting in absurd scenarios, and the art of staying perfectly still. It is absolutely fascinating to hear what goes into a performance like that. Her dedication on that final day of shooting—literally turning herself into a living frame of animation—is exactly why indie horror is so magical. A massive thank you to Rocío de la Grana for sitting down with us! Until next time, stay safe and keep watching indie horror!
Today, we are catching a ride back to the early 2000s with the star of Netflix’s hit sci-fi slasher Time Cut. While audiences worldwide know her as Val Vaughn navigating a deadly timeline in the year 2003, local film circles know her as a true powerhouse of the Canadian prairies.
Jump into the time machine with Sydney and I as we transport you back to the early 2000’s and talk about that era’s fashion, time paradoxes, and what it’s like to balance being an AD with being the star of a major Netflix feature. Not only did she start her career as an Assistant Director, but she has also spanned herself across the horror community as a gifted actress who can deliver whatever role she plays.
It is so inspiring to talk to an artist who doesn't just want to be on screen but genuinely loves and supports every single person on a movie crew. You can watch Sydney face off against a time-traveling killer as Val Vaughn in Time Cut, streaming right now on Netflix. Until next time, stay safe and keep supporting indie and local films!
What happens when your favorite childhood TV puppets turn into a living, breathing nightmare? Described as The Muppets meets Evil Dead, the indie horror-comedy The Fuzzies is a wild ride of practical effects, stop-motion animation, and laugh-out-loud blood splatter.
Join Gordy Cassel and I as we talked about behind the scenes of The Fuzzies, her character her personal addition on her character, stop-motion puppetry, and much more. It is not every day you get to hear what it is really like to fight off demonic, stop-motion puppets while trying to keep a straight face! Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit that notification bell so you never miss an interview.
I am honored to have sat down with a true icon of 1980s genre cinema: Marc Singer. Join me and Marc Singer as we travel back to 1982 to discuss the legendary sword-and-sorcery epic The Beastmaster. Portraying the heroic Dar, a warrior with the extraordinary ability to communicate telepathically with animals, Marc defined the fantasy hero archetype for an entire generation.
Being a movie that was brought into existence during the Golden Era, I feel that this set the tone for a lot of fantasy and action movies (and some remakes). The intense energy that was delivered for the role of Dar is immense and genuine given that this movie was filmed during the times of practical special effects.
Over forty years later, the film’s message of harmony with nature and standing up against tyranny remains as powerful as ever—and Kodo and Podo still hold a very special place in all of our hearts.
