That was Mrs. Jaimie Harvey with United Country Real Estate.   Jaimie is a true Southeast Texan, growing up in Evadale, working with cattle, horses and rodeoing.   This experience led her to specializing in Farm and Ranch properties which comprises 75% of her business and Jaimie is going to share some of the specifics of that market.   

She and her husband Wayne have also adopted an auction model of selling real estate that is unique to the area and you’ll learn how that model can work to both the Buyer and Seller’s advantage. 

And finally, Jaimie shares some advice she received at the beginning of her career that she completely agreed with, but found it was harder than she thought to live that advice.  Hint, if you are looking to find a better balance between your family life and work life, you’ll definitely want to listen in.

It may come as a surprise to you that Beaumont has a place in baseball history.  Our topic today is Stuart Stadium, where the Beaumont Exporters, a Texas League baseball team, played between 1929 and 1957 in what is now the South End of Beaumont. Our guest is Jess Stuart, grandson of Rube Stuart, who owned the Exporters for much of that period and built the stadium that bears his name.

Jess tells us about how his grandfather came to Beaumont as a young man at the turn of the century, worked in the oilfields during the Spindletop era, and eventually came to own the Exporter franchise and build the stadium.   His investment was not necessarily financially motivated as the team he bought rarely had a winning season.  Rather, he was as much motivated to give Beaumont a source of civic pride.   However, as the years went by, he invested heavily in talent and built a winning ball team.
