How we pray that way the Lord Jesus has instructed us to pray shows we are utterly dependent on the Lord for all of our needs trusting that He will provide and answer according to His glory; so we need to pray, because we need God.

The authority in the church given by Jesus exists in the church membership to protect and preserve what is the gospel and to identify who believes the gospel. Then along with the church the Elders lead the church to be equipped to this great work.
