Spark My Muse

Today is a rich and very enjoyable conversation covering the topics of Identity, latent racism, latin-American culture and its helpful purview on politics, religious doubt, asking essential questions, acting with generous intent, and much more.

Today, my guest is Liliana Maria Percy Ruiz [most often known as Lili Percy] the Executive Producer at the On Being Project and the host of her own podcast called "This Movie Changed Me".

Liliana Maria rolls some R's today and shares how she came to Miami from Columbia as a young girl; how she started working as one of the first four people in Krista Tippett's company (now know as the On Being Project) and what is at the heart of that work; and how Movies function like church in her life to transform and guide her.

It is the same radical love that moves and teaches the wisest and most beautiful people in world and throughout human history. Today, some of this wisdom will be revealed to us through the luminescent poetry of 13th Century poet Rumi, as translated and edited by today’s guest, Dr Omid Safi contained in his book "Radical Love: Teachings from the Islamic Mystical Tradition".

Our conversation will indeed hearten you. It is also an example, exploration and embrace of what we can have with one another and the goodness and love of God that is experienced as grace and comfort when we can when we come together. [When love, (not the *emotion* of love), but the Force and power of what makes up the "stuff" of the universe and the core of us is paramount within and to us, the tribalism and boundaries between “you” and “I” dissolve and what is borne is "we".

The official website [ sparkmymuse.com ] will give you access to other treats, resources, a new Soul School course, many episode archives, a store with t-shirts, mugs, etc., and a newsletter sign up spot. Stop by!
