I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Monday morning, the 12th of August, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

We start in the Book of Matthew 10:31:

“Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”

I can hear somebody saying to me, “But you know, I have woken up this morning, and I feel that no one cares for me. I don’t have a friend in the world. Everything is going wrong for me. My family has deserted me.” Jesus says that He loves you more than you can believe! He says that He knows if one sparrow falls to the ground. He says you can buy two sparrows for a copper coin but He says, “I know you more and I love you more than anybody else.” He says, “I even know how many hairs are on your head.” Isn’t that beautiful? So why are worried? Why are you lonely? Why are you fearful? Jesus says, “I will never leave you and I will never, ever forsake you.” I read a beautiful reading once about a definition of faith. Faith is not in what we know but in what we do not know and yet believe.

My dear friend, today I really want to encourage you to trust the Lord. He has promised you that He loves you so much, He died for you. He says, “I know exactly what is waiting for you up ahead.” He says, “I am going before you, I am making a way for you. Speak to Me, spend time with me, I love you and I want fellowship with you.” It’s not about other people liking you or not liking you. It is not about other people taking care of you. He will take care of you, so if you seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and His righteousness, all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33). 

So today, go out, knowing - knowing that the Lord has got everything in control. If He is a God who does not allow a sparrow to fall to the ground without His knowing, then He knows everything about you, and if He knows everything about you, you have got nothing more to be worried about.
