Thank you to everyone who has been listening to the Speak Dicely podcast. After having run this podcast for a year, I've determined that it's time that the podcast begin to wind down. With so many projects on the go and finding what is most requested, I want to focus my time most efficiently.
There will still occasionally be Speak Dicely podcast episodes, but they won't be consistent. In addition, they'll only be uploaded to our YouTube channel.
I've also got to record the final class episode for the Bard, so go subscribe to our YouTube channel to listen to that episode when it goes up.

Thank you all so much, it's been an amazing year of learning.
All the best,
Teni Dicely
Sometimes we have to make changes to D&D monsters to make them strong enough to be a challenge for our players. One of those methods is to give the monsters Magic Items. But, this also means that the players can pick up those magic items if they defeat them. Teni is joined by Fred (How to D&D), No Fun Allowed, and SteelySam to talk about Magic Items that we'd be alright equipping our monsters with.

On this episode of the Speak Dicely podcast, Teni is joined by Folkard from the channel "Lutes & Dice". Together, they talk about travelling, what life is like half a world away, how playing D&D has helped make them better people, and how D&D has helped their anxiety. This episode follows a more casual and conversational format than this podcast normally does, but we had a great conversation during this one.

We all know about the typical low level monsters you'll encounter in D&D. It's hard to imagine that a player has never encountered a Goblin or Kobold before. I'm joined by How to D&D, No Fun Allowed, and SteelySam to talk about alternative monster options for low-level play in D&D and how we use these other types of creatures.

The Ranger is (at least judged by the community) the most mechanically neglected class in the Player's Handbook. Thanks to the release of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, the Ranger has been fixed is now a mechanically fun class to play! The flavour of the survivalist is a great archetype, and many people including myself were disappointed in it's original abilities. Joined by Adrian and Michael, we talk about the classes original shortcomings, and how it was improved. As well as the zany ideas we have had for playing this class!

One of the mechanics in D&D that offers a lot of character customizability is Feats. They allow you to strengthen a character's attacks, defenses, or give them new special abilities. Teni is joined by Cole and Matt to talk about other reasons why Feats are so great, some of our favourites (and least favourite), and answer a listener question about Alignment!

Sometimes in TTRPGs, there might be a rule that is left vague so as to let the Game Master develop mechanics for certain things, or just hand wave them. Teni is joined by Fred of "How to D&D", Mark of "Dungeon Class", and Folkard of "Lutes & Dice" to talk about vague rules that they developed a mechanic for.

Over the many editions of D&D, Paladins have been viewed as an overbearing personality on many adventuring parties. This is mostly due to their past requirements of adhering to strict moral rules and codes, lest they lose their Divine powers. But, there are ways to make this adherence to a moral code easier on players and groups. I'm joined by Ryan Worthing and Christy Clow to talk about Paladins, how their mechanics functions, and how to roleplay/create a Paladin character.

Teni is joined by some new voices to the podcast to have a Round Table discussion between Dungeon Masters! These podcast episodes will be shorter than the main episodes, and will focus completely on discussion of one topic. Joined by Fred from "How to D&D", Mark from "Dungeon Class", and Folkard from "Lutes & Dice", the first topic we're discussing is about using Master Plots in campaigns, and how to not railroad your players with them.
