Dave Runyon is the founder of City Unite and works to unify different entities in Denver for the good of the city. He is also one of the authors of the Art of Neighboring. While difficult circumstances, past wounds, difficulty with work, and depression all contributed to his experience, he explores the complexity and confusion of all that happened.

There are practical struggles like finding the right medical care and making decisions about what to try for treatment, but on a deeper level Dawne wrestles with deep questions about the role of a parent in a child’s suffering. She also talks about the gut level struggle with God and faith as she continues to walk with her daughter daily in the pain.

In this episode Michelle talks about her struggle with undiagnosed health issues that significantly impact her capacity, sense of self, and relationships. She also shares the pain of her daughter going through similar things and not being able to help her.

For Michelle, her faith has played a foundational role in helping her to make it through each day and hold onto hope.
