Welcome to Speaking 4 Profit, where your voice is your power! I’m Evolve Benton and for this Speakers Room Live episode, Vladimir Adonis tells his story of taking a plunge into entrepreneurship and how others can do it too. It all started with a dream and asking that question how else can success be defined? About 15 years ago, I started working in higher education for an online university. I worked my way up to an executive-level position. I worked as a college Executive for 12 Years. About five years into my executive position, I knew that it wasn’t something I wanted to be doing for the rest of my life. Something inside of me told me I should start my own business. I found and hired a programmer to build me a dating/dance-type website so that I would be able to launch my first business as an entrepreneur. Fast forward a year later – the website was -launched. But to my surprise, I had a hard time getting members to join, and I had to close down the site to avoid losses.

Then I decided to take what I had learned about lead generation and marketing and began hosting workshops in my area. After hosting over 60 local marketing workshops and helping other businesses dial in their -marketing – I felt comfortable with my craft. Today I specialize in lead generation and marketing. Helping businesses generate leads and make more sales. I also help people take their knowledge, experience, and expertise to turn it into an online coaching program.

India earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the New College of Florida and her Master of Arts in Integrative Health Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Whatever she is doing — practicing, performing, teaching — she is setting forth an example, that however our bodies show up the world, they are perfect, worthy of existence, and capable of magic. As a Disability Justice consultant, public speaker, somatics practitioner, and performance artist, India Harville has made it her mission to open people's minds to the wonder of their own bodies. She works diligently to foster a sense of the body as a vehicle for growth and transformation, both personal and collective. An African American, queer, disabled/chronically ill, femme, cis woman, she has experienced health issues since infancy. It was only in 2011, however, that she embraced her disabled identity in a political sense. That was a major move forward for her, coalescing her identity into its form today – an identity that informs all of her work, each of its components shaping her voice and her message.

For more than twenty years, India has equipped non-profits, corporations, and universities with the tools and insights that they need to move into a wider and fuller concept of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
