It's a very beefy (pun intended) episode of the Week-Ended Take this week. First, the guys sans Austin Brezina for another week back up Washington Mystics forward Aerial Powers for her righteous clapback on Miami Heat forward Andre Iguodala (9:43). Then, the fellas go to war over Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal while discussing his gripe with long-time NBA writer Zach Lowe (43:28) and when I tell you insanity ensued, I'm underselling it. Finally, "Keep Our Ears to the Streets" returns with a trio of listener questions about the NBA bubble, MLB struggles and Spurs coach Gregg Popovich not kneeling during the national anthem (1:38:33).

The irony of how the show started and how long the show the went has not been lost on us but on this edition of the Week-Ended Take, the guys sans one Austin Brezina break down every major sports leagues' return to action quarantine plan. From the NBA (8:30) to the WNBA (39:55) to the MLB (1:01:07) to the NFL (1:28:00:) to the NHL (1:50:39), they grade each league's quarantine protocols and BLM action plans as each league plans to restart in July/August. After that, D.R. takes out congressman Ted Yoho (2:04:07) -- though AOC did all the heavy lifting -- and finally, the guys break down the Jamal Adams trade quickly (2:21:29).

ft. Mariana Ovalle

It's an extremely super duper special welcome back episode of Is This Your King featuring everyone's favorite guest and Terrell Huff's favorite writer Mariana Ovalle. Speaking of Thespian Papi, he returns to the program as everyone involved delves into the conspiracy machinations of the internet's obsession with Wayfair and a never- corroborated trafficking scandal (5:14). After that, they discuss the "scandal" between August Alsina and Will and Jada Smith regarding a relationship years back when Jada and Will were in the middle of a separation. (51:37). 

It's not the normal film-centric format for the podcast but we delve into a different form of pop culture for the first time. The return is strong and full of hot takes. Put an ear or two to it.

It's a football topic; so Tre Blanco (Edd White III) joins the program to talk about the Washington nameless football team's latest scandal surrounding sexual and workplace harassment allegations (14:42). After that, one of the guys shreds 50 Cent for the sexist and demeaning remarks he made against Black women (1:50:06).. 

There's also a very special intro today (1:19) and of course, Terrell's First Take (4:57), Austin gives you The What For (10:14) and Tre Blanco fires up his grill (20:45). Put your ears to it! 

In yet another episode of meaty, heavy discussions on the Week-Ended Take, the guys discuss the anti-Semitic post from Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson (4:02) along with the reaction from New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (35:38) and ex-NBA star Stephen Jackson (56:18) and finally ending that discussion with a comparison to former Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper's similar saga (1:17:08). Following that, they speak on the NCAA's desperation to play football games in 2020 (1:33:15) before two separate topics during "Is This Your King." For the first, they come for the NFL (2:03:25) but what else is new and then they speak on the military culture of misogyny and the murder of Vanessa Guillen (2:15:50). 

If you support any -isms, you're gonna hate this show but hit play anyway.

No fourth of July break for your favorite quartet with Tre Blanco (Edd White III) returning to fire up his grill. First, D.R. has a Charles Barkley-sized reckoning in the segment debut of "Come to Jesus" (4:25). Next, they tackle Cam Newton and Jameis Winston getting significantly undervalued during free agency based on the deals they ended up with (7:55), then transition to talking about the Washington professional football finally beginning the process of changing their racist name (1:04:20) before an even more sober than usual Is This Your King (1:35:39). 

And with Mr. Blanco in the building, D.R. takes some people to the grill himself (47:15).

Plus a thousand Hamilton references abound. Enjoy. 

No Austin on this week's episode of the Week-Ended Take but you know what there was? More talk about the state of race relations within the sporting world and the country at large. The gang sans Austin start with a spirited discussion on Bubba Wallace and NASCAR's handling of the noose incident (5:40) before moving to the NBA's tricky situation as they continue to plow ahead with their 2019-2020 season restart (1:11:05). Finally, D.R. and Daniel go toe-to-toe over the No Name vs J. Cole exchange (1:52:00). 

It's a jam-packed episode. 

As the country continues to try to figure out the next steps surrounding police brutality and race relations, it was the NBA's turn to wade into the powderkeg of tension in the current climate. Following Kyrie Irving's decision to speak out against playing basketball games during the movement, the fellas discussed whether NBA athletes should want to return to action along with multiple college athletes wielding their power in an attempt to foster change.

Also, D.R. and Austin curse in front of a child. So there's that. 

We're back from hiatus! But this show doesn't really prove that because we recorded this before Covid-19 was even really a thing. This episode featuring recurring guest Mariana Ovalle was just too good not to post even if it is a tad bit late. With Austin and Daniel taking one side and D.R. and Mariana taking another with a vanishing Thespian Papi in the middle, shenanigans ensue all episode long as they battle of Marvel's Infinity War-Endgame creaming filler err filling -- Captain Marvel.
