GBV- where are we as a country?
The patriarchy is very strategic in derailing our agency by creating so-called feminist platforms that do not speak to feminist principles. Feminists give their blood, sweat and tears in establishing policies and platforms. The strategy is that when these spaces become too powerful, create havoc amongst the feminists to derail the work.
They will push womxn to be responsible for breaking down structures those other feminists have worked so hard at creating.
These actions also derail the healing and progress of many victims/survivors.
Too many of us dying emotionally and psychologically?
Too many have died.
The gatekeepers of the patriarchy are dangerous and are derailing so much work. We all need to put in the work and be transparent.
We call on media to report effectively and stop using social media feeds without consent; please do the necessary research and stop quoting out of context.
We request that the revered cast and crew show true solidarity with those that speak out. Your silence is protecting perpetrators.
Broadcasters, public entities, production houses, are your strategies working?
Have you set up platforms that are effective in ending GBV?
Are your staff protected, and do they have access to adequate healing?
Mathe Moshoeshoe, founder of Moshoeshoe Properties. She saw the gap in the township property market and made a business from it.
Moshoeshoe Properties is now a global property brand.
June is supposed to be pride month, yet we are still dying.
Many of our family are humiliated, tortured and disrespected.
Shock marketing may get you clicks and likes for your commercial gain, but is it worth it if you are offending and hurting others. To understand each other, we all need to unlearn patriarchal and misogynistic ideologies. We need to listen with empathy.
Abuse happens in every aspect of society, and so we cannot tackle it by giving abusers platforms where they will undermine their crimes and mock the abused. Abuse is not a joke.
If you can, give love and support to our family who is living in danger.
