Looking for someone positive and enthusiastic who will make you feel good about life and yourself? Kirt is your man.  This guy is has such a great outlook on things he is just a real pleasure to be around. Kirt can take a situation most would consider a disaster and see only the good that came from it.

This unique perspective spills over into his creativity. Kirt sees beautiful art in corroded old parts at the swap meet that will make the next build something really special. The rust blisters and faded paint on a gas tank aren't undesirable, they're history to be valued and appreciated.  This makes his work fluid, changing with each new find to become something slightly different than planned, but always better than planned.

Kirt's life is full and rich. Not rich in terms of mega wealth rather rich in family, friends and experience. When asked about his favourite piece in his collection Kirt explains it is the '64 Impala on the lift not because of its rarity or its value. It's because his kids helped him sand and prep it, kind of a family project. Kirt's humble beginnings have given him a solid grasp of what is truly valuable in this world.

Harrison and Bruce sit down with Patrick Lambie of Inside Motorcycles and Luke Shaw of Web Caddy to discuss the current situation of marketing and advertising in the motorcycle industry.

Motorcycle shows featuring new models from all the manufacturers have lost the support of many manufacturers after learning from the experience of the pandemic that the expense of participation in these shows did not provide a significant return. In some cases there was no difference in sales when the shows were forced to close. The rider community appears to be more focused on events and shows featuring local businesses and organizations. Bike nights have grown in popularity and it is expected they will be even more popular in 2024.

Digital media has seen tremendous growth while traditional print or hard copy media has experienced loss in revenue and loss of publications. Social media marketing is hardly new though it seems we are apt the frontier of social media advertising. While the insights and statistics for digital media activity are abundant and comprehensive the application and effects of digital advertising are not always well understood or easily analyzed.

We ask Luke and Patrick some tough questions trying to find a clear path forward. Their answers and perspectives are enlightening and encouraging.

Ill-Fated Kustoms is the result of the love and enthusiasm Jenn and Kenny Kwan have for motorcycles and the motorcycle community. This couple is so down-to-earth, caring,  unpretentious and real it is an absolute pleasure to sit down with them.  "Make Friends Ride Motorcycles" is the tag line on the home page of Ill-Fated's website and on shirts available in the funky store that invites folks into Ill-Fated Kustoms. Jenn and Kenny live that tag line. From the store one can walk through to the Prairie Emporium, an eclectic space that is so Jenn and Kenny. This warm, comfortable space is solely there for the comfort of the customers and friends at IFK. Why would a business maintain a space just for people to hang out and to host special events after hours? IFK does because that's who Jenn and Kenny are.

Bruce is an average guy who enjoys and appreciates life. He also likes a challenge. When a friend suggested Bruce should host a podcast he went to work researching podcasts and podcasting. Speed & Kolor is the result of the original suggestion.

There is no doubt the single most significant force in Bruce's life is the love and support of a wonderful wife. Whether life's easy or the challenges are difficult, Karen is always there to encourage Bruce to pursue his interests and accomplish his goals. In this episode Bruce provides much insight into the person and relationship that literally saved his life.

Wheels and engines are all it takes to capture Bruce's attention. He has explored many aspects of custom and performance machines. But, he is hardly done or without goals. Drag racing (4 wheels and 2) and the Bonneville Salt Flats are desires rooted in the building of the machine. Bruce will tell you he loves competing, but more than driving or riding his ultimate rush comes from building and tuning the bike, car, or truck that gets the job done.

Mac is the co-host of the Speed & Kolor show. Mac's a conscientious young man with a passion for old school custom motorcycles. He has a keen interest in the culture of the 70's and for all things retro.

While he has a strong curiosity in the culture of the past he also strives to live in the present. This is reflected in his willingness to step out of the box and push himself to take on the role of co-host on a podcast. Mac also stays current with motorcycles, two wheel trends and the latest performance and handling products for motorcycles.

One passion he is yet to explore is his need for speed. Mac has made it clear if there's any opportunity to run a bike at the salt flats or to go drag racing he wants to be our first choice of rider. We would love to see Mac achieve this goal.
