• A first-year student at the University of Delaware was killed Tuesday night when someone riding a motorcycle failed to pull over for police, sped off and hit her in the crosswalk.
• Drug overdose continues to rank among the leading causes of death in Philadelphia, but a city official had a hopeful message to share with an audience of federal officials at the White House on Wednesday. When the data is finalized, Philadelphia is expecting to see a slight decrease in overdose deaths for the first time since the pandemic.

• Free rides for Drexel University faculty and staff? Sorry, that train has left the station. After two years, the university is pulling the brakes on a travel benefit that allows workers to ride SEPTA at no cost.
